How to pluck eyebrows when you have no tweezers?..

Meant to do them last night. Of course I forgot and am now on my way to work and am horrified of the state of them but I stupidly don't have tweezers in my make up bag.

Does anyone have an emergency DIY way of plucking eyebrow hairs when you don't have tweezers to hand??

No sorry :) can you pop into boots or a supermarket

TheannamoLeelu · 07/07/2014 06:44

If you can get a length of thread you can thread them?

StealthPolarBear · 07/07/2014 06:50

With what? The pot of hot wax she carries round in her handbag??

lanbro · 07/07/2014 06:52

You don't need wax for threading but I think your only option is to buy tweezers or just leave until you get home, after all how much do people really notice?!

You don't need wax for threading.

a length of thread and a quick youtube how to thread tutorial and your away op Smile

StealthPolarBear · 07/07/2014 06:54

What do you do? Tie it round eash individual hair? How does it work?
Ive had it done!! Just assumed wax was involved

Lj8893 · 07/07/2014 07:01

All it involves is a piece of thread, no wax whatsoever!

watch a you tube tutorial, some of them are very simple and easy to follow for a basic diy threading.

lettertoherms · 07/07/2014 07:08

Right. This is clearly witchcraft.

At work now & hoping no one notices! Blush

Will YouTube threading for future reference as I've always wanted to know how it works. Plus I WILL forget my tweezers again at some point no doubt!

Hope no one noticed!

Love that stealth has had her eyebrows threaded yet still thought wax was involved.

Here's a good tutorial...

Van someone explain it to me? Lazy and youtube is painfully slow but I did think the threads were sticky :o

TheannamoLeelu · 07/07/2014 22:56

They do feel sticky I agree but they aren't. Basically tie a piece of normal cotton thread into a loop, and then hold it like you would if you were doing a cats-cradle only just with your index fingers. Then with one hand wind the thread round so you are twisting the middle. Now you should have something that looks like an 8.

StealthPolarBear · 08/07/2014 07:17

No I think I get the idea. The hair is trapped in the loop uou make and then gets yanked out as the loop undoes itself? Thanks. Sounds like you need a lot of precision! Thanks for explaining

MrsLettuce · 08/07/2014 09:26

Threading is perfectly doable on oneself but please don't practice on your brows! Perfect it on your arm hair or tash or, well, anywhere else first - you can pluck a line right through the brow if you do it wrong.
