Funny shaped legs...

How can I disguise my odd legs? They go in at the knee and back out again, so I always look a bit awkward. I like dresses and skirts, but they just emphasise it. They don't look so bad in long boots, but what do I do in the summer?!

Might be a posture thing?

Bet you have a Short leg you didn't know about

PedlarsSpanner · 04/07/2014 13:15

But honestly, don't be selfconscious, your legs do a grand job toting you about, innit

PedlarsSpanner · 04/07/2014 13:16

Annnnnnd they don't look odd to me

PedlarsSpanner · 04/07/2014 13:16

Annnnnnnd I like your frock

gobbin · 04/07/2014 13:21

Your legs look like mine except yours balance nicely. Mine end in the skinniest ankles known to man and look ridiculous in boots like you've got on.

Love your legs they look great!

Greengardenpixie · 04/07/2014 13:25

Your dress looks fine to me. If you are self conscious then maybe consider where the skirt stops. I dont like my lower leg from knee down to my ankle at the front cause i have a prominent shin bone. I dont like skirts that fall at that point i.e. below the knee. I wear a maxi or ones that hit above the knee. Try and A-line just above the Knee length skirt or you could try a straight just above the knee. That way all you are seeing your leg from the skirt which will avoid the in out effect.

mrscumberbatch · 04/07/2014 17:38

Your legs look fine. I reckon from what you're saying that you've maybe been a bit duck footed as a child and so your knees are in line but your leg from the calf outwards splays out slightly?

It's so not a big deal. You notice it more than anyone. (I only notice because Dd has it). If you're that worried get some decent shoes with orthotics to help you correct your gait.

MissisBee · 05/07/2014 11:31

Yours look the same as mine, only more symmetrical. My right knee is all twisted in and it makes my calves look wider than they are. I find skirts that just skim my knees work best. If I try to cover them with a longer skirt it cuts me off mid-calf and makes them look really dumpy.

Misspilly88 · 05/07/2014 11:34

I have no advice but you have legs like mine! Out of interest do you have flat feet?

Somanyillustrations · 05/07/2014 18:52

Aaah OP here, for some reason the app wasn't updating threads I'm on so I didn't know I had replies!

Thanks for the compliments guys, you're a good bunch :)

I've never owned knee length skirts as I always imagined that they would make me look dumper, but will try a few on next time I'm shopping. Any suggestions?

MrsC and Misspilly I think you may be right. I am very flat footed, and mum reckons I was quite funny footed as a kid. I've been having some knee problems when running (trying to shift the last of the baby weight), so was thinking to go for gait analysis for that. Who knows, maybe it'll sort the dodgy looking pins out at the same time Grin

I have similar legs, with kind of 'rolled in' knees, but mine are fatter. Yummo. And, indeed, have pronating feet. And, indeed, have knee problems if I do running.

I find skirts that end just below the kneecap are best, though that's mainly because of the roll of flab just above the knee.
