Is there some magic arm rescue cream that will. .

Is the some magic cream that will make my joint of ham arms look slightly less hideous?
I'm planning on wearing a sleeveless top but with a beautiful silk pashmina to disguise my beefy arms.
Is there anything I can do to make my arms look a little better? I considered spraying them with some sort of oil but I think that would wreck the silk pashmina and probably look. ..odd. I'm not keen on some sort of tan as I am paper white everywhere else.
Anyone got any tips? Foundation?

Spray on tights? Sounds daft but my friend uses it on her arms and they look good. It's basically foundation for your limbs.

Oooooooh - never heard of that!! Thanks will have a Google.

MAc Face and body foundation is apparently good.

In terms of moisturiser, I find the Burts Bee tummy cream (bought in pregancy - did nothing for my stretch marks!) is fantastic for bumpy red arms. I actually repurchased it when the last tub ran out as it is really good.

I have used all sorts of special lotions and creams and scrubs and this is the best.

Also getting some sun on them really does help too. a few hours out in the garden makes all the difference I find.

Sally Hansen airbrush legs

Weights will help tone the arms and give a bit of definition, even if you've got a bit of flab on them, but that's a long-term solution.

A tan always makes my chunky/flabby bits look better; the palmers cocoa butter self tan doesn't smell as awful as some fake tans and the colour is OK.

If your arm skin is rough feeling, you could use one of those cheapo massage sponges from boots (synthetic sponge with a white top; bit like a large round washing up sponge) get it lathered up and buff your arms every time you shower.

Right lots of ideas here thanks!

Soap & Glory Scrub Actually body scrub for any bumps on the backs of your arms followed by a good thick moisturiser, preferably one with a bit of urea in the ingredients. I like the Sanctuary Spa Firm and boost body butter.

Garnier body repair moisturiser, (red bottle with maple leaf), is another very good one. Not as thick as the Sanctuary one but it gets raved about and is a bargain. Always on offer in Tesco.

A bit of bronzer or a wash off make up like the rimmel Sun Shimmer one in light matte would add a hint of colour so you look sun kissed rather than fake tanned. If you do go for a wash off one, applying it with a tanning mitt gives a really even finish.

I always think people look more toned straight after exercising, something to do with blood flow? I don't know but if it's for a special occasion, a few arm exercises just prior might add some definition.

Is it flexitol that gets rid of arm bumplies?

Hobbes8 · 04/07/2014 22:06

The lush exfoliating bars are quite good for those little bumps. They look like a bar of soap but they have exfoliating thingies in them. I tried the one called buffy.

ShotgunNotDoingThePans · 04/07/2014 22:10

Flexitol definitely for keratosis pilaris. Loads of threads about it.

Coumarin · 04/07/2014 22:13

I take back my previous recommendation of Rimmel Sun Shimmer. I just tried some on my whiter than the snow legs and good grief. If that's what they're calling 'sun kissed' I'm guessing the dark shade is like mahogany. Confused

Maybe I put too much on...

I used to have bumpy arm skin but got rid of it with daily body brushing and body scrub. And Dove pro-age nourishing cream oil body lotion (dark red bottle or pot) is very rich and gives a nice sheen on arms and legs after use.

I don't have arm bumps but they are red. People think I am sun burnt but I'm not Sad. Will any of those help with the redness apart from make upy ones. I'm so pale that all the make up or fake tans I have tried have been too yellow.
