They were shiny gold and looked to be good quality. Not off the market IYSWIM. Having said that, if they turn out to be off the market, I'll be delighted.

They were sort of woven leather. Or pleather.

Has anyone come across them?

I should have asked the woman wearing them where she got them from, but instead, here I am.

Those two are quite close in shape, but not in colour or texture- these were a really rich gold IYSWIM.

....actually zoom in and they do look a bit woven-y... Not as you described but there looks to be a texture about the finish, not leather though:
