Back to work make up - speed tips!

I'm going back to work soon (corporate job so will be getting quite dressed up compare to jeans & t shirts of mat leave!) and am wondering whether you have any tips for speedy make up application? I am doing drop off childcare so my mornings will be pretty full & I may end up doing make up on train or at my desk :-/ I've most bought a compact foundation as a starting point but any other tips v welcome!! Thanks so much!

I can do make up in less than 5 minutes. I keep my MU bag downstairs by the mirror so I do it while the kids watch TV after breakfast.

The two things that makes the biggest difference are filling in eyebrows (I use a Rimmel pencil) and a really good blusher to make you look more awake!

I also then have a whole other set of MU at my desk for those mornings when I can't fit it in!

My make up takes 5 minutes;

Foundation with brush
Powder on top
Blusher
Eyeliner
Eyeshadow
Mascara
carmex on lips

I get up and dressed and leave the house in 40 minutes. This includes washing and drying my hair, showering, teeth, getting dressed, making the bed, getting lunch stuff together.

DH gets DS ready for nursery as I do the drop off.

I eat a cereal bar for breakfast at work - this seems to be the thing that's given.

I use max factor face infinity all in one. A quick sweep of eyeliner and pale pink shadow.

HD foxy on brows. Double coat of mascara

Tiny bit of bronzer and nude lipstick

Takes about two minutes.

5 mins for me too.

Clinique Cityblock SPF
Concealer and tinted moisturiser
Powder & quick contour + highlight
Eyebrows
Eyeshadow & liner
Curl lashes, mascara
Lip line + lipstick

I'm up, washed, dressed and out of the house in 15-20 mins.

I can do mine in about 10 mins.

I use a tinted moisturiser with SPF which kills 2 birds with 1 stone rubbed in like a moisturiser with hands for speed.
Bit of powder over the top to stop shine with a big powder brush - again quick coverage for speed.
light eyeshadow to make me look more awake, just brush it on with my finger tips
bit of eyeliner and mascara
blusher - great for making you look more bright / awake
long lasting lipstick with a bit of Vaseline on top

If I have a meeting or a bit longer to get ready I put things like a highlighter on too but not every morning.

Bunnymummy, get a little make up bag and a mirror small enough to fit in it.
My make up takes all of 5 mins but I put on moisturiser before I leave house and curl my eyelashes. I sometimes fill in my brows here too with a grey powder and an angled brush.

Sunglasses on.

I use:
Vitaluminaire liquid foundation with spf 15 from Chanel on nose, chin and forehead and spread out from there.(oily t zone)
Blusher from bourgeois in a pinkish colour with a little brush. I sweep this brush over my hairline on forehead and around a bit if I feel pasty and pale.
Under eye concealer from Clinique airbrush, for dark circles.

A pot of makeup forever gel eyeshadow in a pinky mink colour which I apply with fingers all over lid- it acts as a seal so no creasing.
Grey eye pencil from clarins, and Clinique mascara.

Lips are chubby stick in peony.

I bring a handy bag of wipes to clean my hands off.
My make up bag is tiny.

Congrats on going back!!

Using a push liner brush and a powder shadow is quicker for me than using a pen or gel eyeliner. Like in this video:

I like using cream eyeshadows - they are easy to apply and last all day. I really like the Chanel Illusion d'ombre in Emerveille - applied lightly, it's a lovely wash of colour with a bit of sparkle (but can be layered). I apply it with a Mac 217 brush and it takes 20 seconds - but you can use your fingers instead if you want.
It's used in this video: www.lisaeldridge.com/video/26180/fresh-faced-beauty-makeup-with-sophie-dahl/tag/26182/

Sheer lipsticks and tinted lip balms are quicker and easier to apply IME, so I always save the bright/darker/classic reds for the days where I have enough time to apply them properly.
I really like Clinique Chubby Sticks, Pixi Tinted Brilliance Balms, Chanel Rouge Coco Shine and Guerlain Rouge/Shine Automatique.

On a work day where I'm in a rush, I'll wear:
Laura Mercier oil-free tinted moisturiser or Diorskin Nude applied with a Real Techniques Expert Face Brush.
Mac pressed powder (applied with a brush) - if home, I use either Guerlain Meteorites, Nars Light Reflecting Loose Setting Powder or a loose powder from Mac.
Powder blusher - if on the go, I'll apply with the same brush I've used for the powder mentioned above.
Cream eyeshadow applied with Mac 217 brush
Mascara
Sheer lipstick of some kind

I tint my eyebrows which lasts 6-8 weeks. If I haven't tinted them, I'll use an angled brush and a spoolie brush with Mac Mystery or Omega eyeshadow, or if on the go, I'll use a Clarins eyebrow pencil.

I use a creme blush so you don't need to faff about with brushes and can easily add more if you need to. I quite like Topshop's ones but any in a good shade for you that doesn't need much blending is ideal

Easy to apply lippy - I like Bobbi Brown's creamy lip colour, it lasts well and is v forgiving with quick application as it has a slight shine and lots of neutral shades

Mac twist up eyebrow pencil - really easy to use, doesn't need sharpening ever and again no brushes... powder based stuff can end up leaving bits on your face/under eyes

I don't bother with eyeshadow when I'm in a rush - maybe dot a bit of concealer on my eyelids instead. I just do a soft coloured liner line - I like Estée Lauder Doublewear pencil or Mac eyeshadow applied with stiff thin brush, plus one good coat of volumising/lengthening mascara.

I have about 6 lippies in my handbag so I can wear something brighter/deeper if I want to and have time

In summer I add bronzer. All in make up takes 3 mins.
