What do people think of Pepperberry?

After my rant about bras for bigger boobs I ended up in Bravissimo and noticed they now do a much larger range of clothes. I was under the impression that they were either a bit frumpy or quite formal but I got a lovely sun top and what a relief to find something strappy that actually covers my bra and boobs but doesn't flatten them or give me a ginormous cleavage. I am tempted by some of their other things now, has anyone else bought much from there?

I used to order a lot of stuff from them but I think they are very overpriced now and it's possible to make things work in normal shops with just a belt added in a larger size or with a camisole underneath to hide obscene cleavage :)

I actually love Yours for jersey tops and maxi dresses. I'm not a very large size really (at the small end of their size range) but their dresses in particular are really well cut for larger boobs and they always have thicker straps that hide bras well. Plus I think they are trendier than pepperberry etc.

(If it makes any difference I'm a 30GG sometimes H and a size 16).

beccajoh · 02/07/2014 07:46

I had a couple of tops from them way back when, but most of their just isn't very 'me'. I hardly ever see anything I want to buy in the catalogue. Frumpy and expensive.

StatisticallyChallenged · 02/07/2014 09:23

Hit and miss style wise but I have a few gems as the cut of some of their dresses and tops suits me very well and a non popping shirt is a nice addition to the wardrobe. Tbh I really don't think they are that expensive-more pricey than the cheap end of the high street but probably not far off the likes of oasis, warehouse etc and I would say that the quality in pepperberry is better than those

DramaAlpaca · 02/07/2014 11:14

Interesting that people are saying their dresses are very short.

The maxi dress I got is very long, a perfect fit on me as I'm 5'10. It would drown someone of 5'2, even if they were wearing heels.

StatisticallyChallenged · 02/07/2014 11:35

I'm 5'6" and find them fine length wise too

OOAOML · 02/07/2014 12:45

I have a lovely work dress from there, and would love to buy their work shirts, but almost everything I try on with a v neck is clearly made for someone taller/longer bodied/more willing to flash massive amounts of cleavage than I am.

VarsityQueen · 02/07/2014 13:15

With the couple of bits I've tried, they've tended to emphasize my bust, which is fine if you want to be all 'out and proud' but I tend to have better luck with 'normal' clothes (30FF).

icelandicsaga · 02/07/2014 14:22

I find them too short (5ft 7) and often with lots of horrible frills, gems etc. However, there will normally be one thing each season which is good. Read the reviews online and the Pepperberry facebook page which will give you a better idea on fit (as it is massively variable).

iwantgin · 02/07/2014 14:26

I bought a nice dress - but it was from a charity shop.

I like it - and it is easy to wash, no ironing required -but it is quite short. I tend to wear capri length leggings with it for decency when am out and about in this country. (on holiday i will wear it without).

The sizing must be quite large - as my dress is a 12RC - and there is no way I am a 12 - more like a big 14.

ShotgunNotDoingThePans · 02/07/2014 14:38

Don't think I've ever kept anything I've ordered. I've tried lots of night wear, as I'd love to go bra-less in bed, but the secret support is crap - I've had more success with Tesco's. Fabric tends to be polycotton as well, which I can't abide.

And the 'out and proud' look annoys me - not that boobs are something to be ashamed of, I just don't feel the need to be channelling Sophia Vergara all the time especially since I'm 51 and unenhanced.

Scarletohello · 02/07/2014 15:04

Shotgun, that's what I meant about the styles being wrong for big boobs,I really don't want to emphasise them they're big enough as they are!

Sophia Vergara looks bloody amazing tho...

ShotgunNotDoingThePans · 02/07/2014 19:55

Agreed Smile.

Much better season this year.

Horrible! So many dresses with short sleeves - the least flattering (and least fashionable) length for big boobs. Cap sleeves or 3/4 would be so much better!

Pico2 · 02/07/2014 21:09

Their fabrics were horrible when I tried them. Are they any better now?

RubyReins · 02/07/2014 21:14

So want to love but generally disappointed. Expensive for what it is and the finish on hems and zips is poor. I have kept one dress that is an absolute winner (and I have a few frocks in the wardrobe that are never worn...). The sleeve lengths are odd - I would have thought straps and tiny cap sleeves were right out for the more ample of bosom!

I do like their shirts when they have them - the proper cotton white shirt but they are frequently embellished and on occasion see through so no use.

pinkflaming0 · 02/07/2014 22:54

I discovered Pepperberry earlier this year when I was 'bra intervened' to a 30DD. So, I'm not overly busty but have trouble with tops being to tight round my boobs but baggy at the waist. As I'm tall (5'10") and a size 8 I want clothes to emphasise my shape otherwise I look straight up and down.

Dresses and shirts are all too short with the waist in the wrong place but I have one short sleeved knitted top which I love - as it's ribbed below the bust it doesn't matter where the waist is. It definitely emphasises the boobage which is great on me but I understand it's not what everyone is looking for!
