I think I broke/fractured my little toe a few weeks ago. Feels much better now but I having a wedding to go to in 10 days and the only shoes I've been able to wear are birkenstocks!

Don't want to wear these to the wedding as was going to buy a new pair...so any suggestions? Budget up to £60...not too high...open toe...

What kind of outfit/colours are you wearing and what size shoe do you take?

Ouch about the toe, that's really painful, as you obviously know all too well.

Well I haven't bought the dress yet...more of a shoe person! I'm thinking blues, yellows or floral though. Slightly above the knee. Really need to get a move on!

I'm a 42, although sometimes 41 fits ok as sandals Smile.

Just worked out is actually 17 days to the wedding...so got a bit more time...phew!

Aagh ok, so get a reasonable shoe or sandal that's going to be comfortable and work around that then?

I would go with shoes with a toe post and a low wedge or kitten heel. That way your little toe will be completely free with as little pressure on it as possible.

I had this style of Clarks Smart Diva last year. I got them in bright pink and orange combo with metal trim on the heel and really liked them.
I actually did return them though because the strip was just catching my toe and I thought it'd rub wearing them all day. One of the reviews says the same, so not sure if they'd suit your feet or make them worse.

This summer I got These Rockport from Secret Sales for around £40 I think.

I got them though as an everyday sandal that I didn't start grimacing over and they're really comfortable.

Would you wear anything that shape or not? Would you wear a wedge heel?

Thanks for the suggestions - I like the diva ones but think a toe post could be the way to go...will see what I can find!

Amazon UK is a good place to browse then, they have pages and pages.
One thing I can add though is that I've got a pair of fairly smartish looking toe posts with a Birkenstock type sole, they have three stones along the top of the foot as decoration on a suede band and I absolutely can't walk in them. They either slip right off when I walk, or if I tighten the strap across the top of my foot, they're really uncomfortable. I've never had that kind of issue with any toe post shoes before.
