Could I have a nursing bra intervention please?

I'm fat. Put on loads of weight post pregnancy. (Yes I am heavier now than the day I gave birth!)

I need new nursing bras. Dd2 is 8 months so aside from weight loss I think size will have settled down, and I will probably be feeding her for a couple of years so it's worth investing I think.

Anyway my bra less measurements are 35 inches around back and 42 when bending and letting them flop!

What size do I need please?

Proper bra measuring doesn't involve tape measures! Go somewhere like Bravissimo (best fitters around IME) or, if you're in London, Rigby and Pellier and get them to tell you what size you are. Then go here and order some Anita underwire nursing bras - hands-down the best nursing bras going.

Difficult for me to get to a bravissimo unfortunately - I have a car hating baby, and the 3yo gets over stimulated and has melt downs in shopping centres so was hoping to do it online Hmm

You can securely measure at home. Just make sure you know what a good fit looks like and you'll be fine. I don't have the link to the measuring guide to hand but I've been using that and ordering lots to try with no problems.
In fact, as I can get a great fit and not prone to mastitis, I convert underwired bras with clips from old bras.

Accurately, not securely! Currently BFing a wriggly 10m old...

The bra gurus may disagree but I've found the Bravado Silk to be the most comfortable one EVER. You only need to know your size roughly - I'm a 36J-K when nursing and wear a Large - and you can order them online from John Lewis and JoJo Maman Bebe.

Thanks, and sorry about the emoticon on previous post - on phone and must have fat fingered it!

Agree that the Bravado Silk is super-comfy, and reasonably supportive. Tbh I've found the cheapo M&S ones to be the best all-rounders but if I have another baby I'll definitely seek out some underwired ones.

I love hot milk ones the best, but it's right that the bravado silk bras are superbly comfortable.

Try 34F/FF and 36E/F. You can buy kits to convert normal bras into nursing bras. Much cheaper.
