Make up for more mature skin - big trip coming up

My Mother wants some make-up tips. She's 68 and doesn't wear make-up often since she retired. But she's got a major trip coming up to New Zealand, where she will be running workshops so needs to look professional. She wants to know about foundation that avoids falling into and highlighting wrinkles and what primer is and what blur is and so on.

I can only offer limited help as I only do the basics myself, anything more complicated than moisturiser, foundation, blusher and mascara has me a bit befuddled.

NB she has lost a LOT of weight - dramatic transformation -so needs make up that helps her celebrate feeling great for the first time in years.

Glamour magazine has Clinique freebies this month... Mascara and chubby sticks are certainly worth stocking up on!

Just to say thanks again to DameDiazepam (love the name, btw) for your recommendation of No 7 Sheer Temptation Shy Pink lipstick.

A voucher did duly come along, I got it for about six quid, and am very pleased with it. Have to confess to having been a bit of a 'lipstick snob' before, having not bought on the high street for very many years, but this has opened my eyes to what I could have missed out on.

Oh glad you like itSmile Personally I think high street brands have really upped their quality and the gap between high end make up and high Street stuff has narrowed loads in the last year or so.

I was a lippie snob too then tried Rimmel and No 7.
I am using No 7 moisturising one in Divine and Romantic- got both for £6. They don't last very well on your lips but which do unless you go for very matte long last.
I shelled out on a new Clinique long last recently- £18 ish- in Suede and am very disappointed as the colour is too pale for me.
I'm so useless at judging shades that I think cheap is the way to go for me.
