Bare faced makeup help

newbie wave Hi all, I'm starting a new job in a few weeks where make up has to be either non-existant or minimal. As a long term double wear fan this is something of a problem for me, I have worn foundation since I was at school now 29, and the mere thought of being bare faced fills me with terror.

My skin isn't great, very pale due to lack of sunlight getting through to it with the odd red, blotchy patch. I've the odd little spot that is easily covered by my beloved double wear.

Can anyone suggest what to try or what regime to go for? Time is also going to be a factor so a do it all product would be perfect, if one exists!

I use this,

www.barefacedbeauty.co.uk/product/mineral-foundation/

I find it very quick to apply. I apply dry with a light coverage over my face with a large Kabuki brush. More coverage then can be easily built up in places which need extra, just use a small brush for concentrated coverage in those areas.

Check out YouTube videos for methods of application of Mineral Foundation to see if you think you'd get on with this.

I'm not supposed to wear any make up. I wear a full face!

For work I wear

T-Zone anti blemish bb cream

I work it in with a foundation brush. It hides everything but looks natural. You must use swirling motions with the brush.

I sometimes use a collection 2000 illuminating concealer and highlight under my eyes and just above and around lip lines.

I then buff rimmel stay matte powder using a powder brush. This finishes off my skin to give a completely natural look.

I always only used to buy expensive products but I now find that many cheap products work just as well.

I use benefit coralista blusher with my own blusher brush.

I use Lavera bronzer occasionally and this is very natural looking and useful for contouring.

I wear any non clumping mascara in black but you could wear brown if you have light coloured hair.

I then wear rimmel Asia lipstick which I blot then lightly apply vaseline over the top. The vaseline is in stick form so is more of a balm.

This total look is very natural and minimum looking.

I wear a full face when I'm not supposed to as well!

Botanics BB cream
Concealer
Nude matte eyeshadow
Mascara
Barely perceptible bit of blusher
Powder to de-shine
L'oreal nude lipstick (Julianne for me). Just a small amount covered with eight hour cream.

what jobs do you all have that mean no make up? Shock

squoosh · 29/06/2014 12:18

I'm wondering that too!

I second the barefaced beauty foundation, it is the best mineral foundation I've tried and it is very reasonably priced. Their make up brushes are also excellent. I've had lots of compliments on how glowing my skin looks and I have a six week old baby!Smile Smile

Thanks for all the suggestions, I'm going to get a few of those products suggested and have a little practice! I might check out a primer as well perhaps.

And for those asking what the job is, an astronaut Wink
