What to use to cover up dark cirlces under eyes?

I have bad under eye circles at the mo - partly hereditory, but not helped by recent stress and lack of sleep...... I used to use Touche Eclat and it worked a treat but over last few months it doesn't seem to cut it anymore and I still look awful....

What does everyone else use?

Mac, not clear from your post whether you're recommending Bobbi Brown or Smashbox?

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 28/06/2014 09:37

If you use the smash box primer, try lanacane anti chaff gel, same ingredients!

plinkyplonker · 28/06/2014 09:41

Benefit concealer - my 2 yr old could put it on me and it would still do the job. Upside down "v" under each eye, blend in upwards. Was a revelation when the benefit girl showed me this.

Rummikub · 28/06/2014 12:01

amethyst do tell more about benefit fake up. Love benefit can't afford.

macandcheesewithbaconbits · 28/06/2014 15:53

Sorry- I think the bobbi brown eye cream is really good I've only ever had a sample. But it's v expensive and they try and make you buy it if you say you find the concealer cakey to use- Which I agree it can be. It goes on easier with a base and I use smash box- (will try lanacane when it runs out).

PrimalLass · 28/06/2014 16:06

Mine went when I gave up gluten.

avocadoadvantage · 02/07/2014 23:25

I'm another one who realises she's been using touche éclat wrong. Celebs always seem to be papped with white circles under their eyes though!

paddyfoo · 03/07/2014 13:30

Benefit boing is really good and I have the worst dark shadows I have ever seen

Amethyst24 · 03/07/2014 14:28

Fake Up is like a cross between lip balm and concealer - perfect because it doesn't look cakey or chalky. Ask and they will give you a free sample.

Jo061278 · 07/07/2014 10:49

PrimalLass, I tried a gluten free diet last week for general weight loss/tummy bloating (lost 2kg Smile)and my eye bags improved too!
Bought the Collection illuminating touch, and yes it is great.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 07/07/2014 13:27

I've just bought done Phwoar Paint-goodness, the stuff is like glue, would cover anything up!

codandchipstwice · 07/07/2014 13:43

Hmm - I tried the Collection200 one at the weekend and aged me by about 10 years - only have gentle creases under eyes but made them resemble canyons. Skin is v dry - is there somethng moisturising that still conceals?

I did one eye only and asked DH how I looked - he said I had a black eye (the unconcealed one) - so clearly need to do SOMETHING?

AntoinetteCosway · 07/07/2014 14:41

cod had you moisturised first? If not I'd try that. Pat a little moisturiser onto the bone, leave it a minute or so then conceal. If you had done that then your skin must be really very dry and I'd look for a moisturising formulation. Perhaps MAC's?

Sissylagos · 07/07/2014 15:07

Touche Eclat is the bomb, as a misused feature of my make up ensemble, it works miracles for my dark circles :)

lagoon · 07/07/2014 15:22

I think I'm going to buy a collection 2000 one on the cool medium tone as well as now I've got a bit of colour in my face the palest one is making my eyes too white Shock interested in trying a gluten free diet just to see if they do improve, god knows how I'd stick to it though Grin

Antoinette sadly I had moisturised first - I just have rubbish skin like that. Will try Mac/YSL - but also trying to fake tan to buggery so contrast not so great Grin

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 07/07/2014 16:03

Cod-try Mac instead.

Apatite1 · 07/07/2014 16:22

Trick is to use a very small amount or it will result in reverse panda eyes. I use a very small pointed brush with bobbi brown. I use so little that the pot will last me years. I have deep under eye circles that I can make disappear completely. Technique is key.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 07/07/2014 16:29

I agree about using a minute amount.

AntoinetteCosway · 07/07/2014 16:40

MAC Select Moisturecover might be your best bet then cod Smile

Rummikub · 12/07/2014 06:56

Well thank you very much to whoever suggested collection 2000. I bought it (under £3 in asda!) in deep 4 and it's a perfect match! It's better than ysl at a tenth of the price! I've tried so many out in the past. Cliniqie never got a good colour match, boots no 7 was ok, ysl and bobbi brown were the best but too expensive. The collection 2000 is fab. Grin

TulipOHare · 12/07/2014 13:37

I went looking for the Collection 2000 one this week but they only had the two darkest shades, so I bought their other one (as recommended by Petal upthread) and it is brilliant! So thanks MN!

Rummikub · 13/07/2014 01:02

There's 2? I got the concealer. Is the other one much different?

botanicbaby · 13/07/2014 01:06

agree with paddyfoo benefit boing is brilliant stuff.

it last forever and ever too. covers everything
