So, it's OK to publicly mock another woman?

It seems the Telegraph thinks so - have a look at their Pinterest board "Claudia Winkleman's beauty blunders" (am on iPad so can't link).

The photos are of beauty blunders, but that's not the point. It's mean spirited and unnecessary, and not something any person (although isn't it nearly always women?) should be the subject of.

I have tweeted The Telegraph asking them to remove the board, but up it stays. If you agree the board should be deleted, too, please do tweet The Telegraph at @TeleFashion telling them so.

How cruel to be publicly ridiculed like that. Everyone gets it wrong sometimes but that doesn't give others the right to make fun of them for it. How nasty, mean spirited and unnecessary. I bet they wouldn't be brave enough to stand in the street making comments on women to their faces as they passed. How easy it is to hide behind a screen and pass judgement

BrandyAlexander · 23/06/2014 17:17

That's so mean. It's probably written by a woman as well. :(

BelindaAllWorkedOut · 23/06/2014 17:18

I wonder if they have a rogue intern, or something - I wasn't expecting thr Telegraph to set up such a Pinterest board. It really IS mean spirited and unnecessary, isn't it?! Quite cruel. They have about 4.5K Pinterest followers who will have seen it, too.

Oh I so agree with you.I looked for the comments section but their wasn't one.I'll tweet now too.

wildfig · 23/06/2014 18:04

It's really disappointing how fast the Telegraph is heading down the DM slippery slope of sneering woman-hating clickbait. This doesn't surprise me, sadly.

MrsCampbellBlack · 23/06/2014 18:05

I commented. Its just mean and nasty.

chantico · 23/06/2014 18:11

It's not just The Telegraph.

We'd need a list of just about every newspaper and magazine published in UK (yes, even those 'serious' ones like The Guardian cover women's appearance "blunders" in this way).

It's a way bigger issue than witch-hunting one item.

KoalaFace · 23/06/2014 18:20

I don't have twitter but I commented on the Pinterest board.

Disgusting.

ppplease · 23/06/2014 18:22

Trouble is I cant quite believe they are blunders at all.
I have become much more cynical of celebs of late.

I am much more of the opinion that she is doing a pr exercise. And it worked. She is on more shows than she used to be afaik.

ppplease · 23/06/2014 18:23

If she was genuine, that is a different matter.

But I hugely doubt it.

BelindaAllWorkedOut · 23/06/2014 20:06

chantico - I've no doubt that this issue is much larger than this particular incident, but since this is the one that's most prominent to me right now, it's the one I've objected to.

ppplease - I'm, generally cynical about slebs, too, but I don't have a view as to whether she deliberately had messy hair, poorly applied make up etc. Regardless of how she came to look like that, I'm objecting to a woman / person being ridiculed due to their appearance.

I'm actually not a particularly irritable person, but this crossed a line for me.

I can't find it at all - maybe it's come down?

MargotThreadbetter · 23/06/2014 20:17

I couldn't find it either Bill.

DesperateHousewife21 · 23/06/2014 20:21

its there if you google telegraph beauty pinterest theres a claudia board.
I think she has done it on purpose but not sure why the telegraph has picked up on it.

MarianForrester · 23/06/2014 20:23

I really hate this sort of thing.

Especially bad are the articles about slebs looking "healthy" which are just there to dig at someone being fat, whilst simultaneously digging at others being "dangerously thin" .

It's horrible.

BelindaAllWorkedOut · 23/06/2014 20:28

Yep, here's the board: www.pinterest.com/telefashion/claudia-winklemans-beauty-blunders/

Oh yes, the snidey articles Sad

I agree. Nasty and unnecessary. I'm not on twitter but I have commented on the board.

enormouse · 23/06/2014 20:35

Have commented too. What an awful thing to do.

Marylou2 · 23/06/2014 20:36

It is still there. Also sorry for the epic grammar fail on my previous post.

ExcuseTypos · 23/06/2014 20:37

How nasty. The paper and "journalist" ought to be ashamed.

aylesburyduck · 23/06/2014 20:42

That's awful. I cannot imagine why on earth there is any need to be so mean spirited.

No need at all and is just spiteful.

MyMeMy · 23/06/2014 20:42

Can't believe that a 'serious' newspaper would even consider doing this, it's shameful! Have also commented on the board.

MargotThreadbetter · 23/06/2014 20:47

I like Claudia. I hope she doesn't see this. Really unnecessary and nasty.

Beaverfeaver2 · 23/06/2014 21:33

I know claudia has said she doesn't mind in the past.

It's often commented on tv too in interviews with her.

But she honestly doesn't own a mirror and does herself up rather than getting proffesionals.

She says she likes the messy look.

I think it's quite cool of her too.

Still mean to ridicule
