First time there and will be with hubby's business clients. No idea what should I wear! Any clues??

Are you in corporate hospitality? If so, I'd go with a summery dress (nothing too exposing - shift dress type of thing) and something you can cover up with so you don't get sunburn.

Trazzletoes · 23/06/2014 09:43

Ordinarily, you can be generally informal. There will be plenty of people there in jeans etc. but if you're going with business clients, I would wear a smart dress.

neshi · 23/06/2014 09:47

Yes, doing the corporate hospitality thing! Could I get away with a smart jumpsuit, black with white polka dots? Don't feel like going out and spending money now...

In case it helps, I just wrote a blog post on this theworkwearedit.com/what-to-wear-to-summer-corporate-events-part-1-the-rules-and-outfit-inspiration/

I think it depends on how much you want to "fit in". It's unlikely that any of the women hosting or there as corporate clients would wear a jumpsuit.

TommyandGina · 23/06/2014 10:19

Definitely no jumpsuit. Think more summery dress - not too revealing if you're with business people, and something to cover up if needed.

Oly4 · 23/06/2014 15:07

I've been to Wimbledon corporate hospitality several times in business and you definitely need a nice dress. Doesn't have to be office wear but a smart shift dress, something cute with cap sleeves or sleeveless, plus nice heels or wedges. I wouldn't wear a jumpsuit. I've worn nice jersey wrap dresses before, cotton sleeveless dresses etc from the likes of banana republic or reiss. Hope this helps

KarlWrenbury · 23/06/2014 15:11

marks had a nice white pencil skirt in - that with a boxy top and big earrings?

DrankSangriaInThePark · 23/06/2014 15:12

If you are staying till late in the evening it gets blimmin' cold!

beccajoh · 23/06/2014 15:13

Don't wear the jumpsuit.

noddyholder · 23/06/2014 17:37

Been loads with my sister and you can wear anything within reason. I was in with players etc though and their wives and gf were casual. Think I wore white trouser suit once and skinny jeans once too with silky shirt and heels Off to look at photos has been a while. I would wear a jumpsuit if it was a nice one definitely. I don't do the corporate thing though and would never feel I had to fit in Maybe ask one of the other women going who may have been before? Lots of people in wrap dresses iirc too.

KarlWrenbury · 23/06/2014 18:20

lol at noddy trumping corp

noddyholder · 23/06/2014 19:08

It was corp they were all in there together.

dippingmytoeinagain · 23/06/2014 21:42

I went last year and wore a white linen dress with quite a large flower print which was lovely and cool but also felt smart enough for the occasion. Some people were in jeans, with shirts or polo tops and shorts, but pretty much everyone looked 'well heeled' if you know what I mean. There wasn't a lot of high fashion but lots of women in effortlessly chic, gorgeous summer dresses. Take something to cover up if you are in the sun as it can get seriously hot in the stands, and likewise, chilly if you are in the shade. A great opportunity for a fab sunhat and sunglasses too! Have fun!

Cuteypatootey · 24/06/2014 01:48

Think conservative chic. A summer dress - not black though. Fab sunglasses.

Vikkil1 · 24/06/2014 17:28

Conservative chic is a good description - I don't think Wimbledon is the time for pushing trends, so no to the jumpsuit too (fine if you were going for pleasure with friends, but not corp with husbands work colleagues).A lot of good suggestions already, but for a long day, I'd steer clear of white, as I'd no doubt spill something and spend all day feeling grungy - although lots have recommended it - and also linen as I'd be a crumpled mess two hours in. Heels but not too high, maybe wedges, cardigan for later, hat sunglasses and suncream (or trenchcoat and brolly!) Have a lovely day.

noddyholder · 24/06/2014 17:42

Wimbledon is really not conservative at all! It is nothing like some of the other summer events not as naff Much more casual and stylish. And def no horrors like ascot

noddyholder · 24/06/2014 17:44

Lots of pics in the papers today and you can see what people are wearing

eurochick · 25/06/2014 05:53

Corporate hospitality is a different kettle of fish to the main event. You are essentially in a work environment so need to dress accordingly.

Merriboo · 25/06/2014 11:08

conservative chic is a great description!
I'm going tomorrow (not corporate) and torn between wearing this another black/white stripe dress which is sleeveless (stripe addict? moi? Hmm ) or this or this
