Does it ruin your nails ? There's an offer local to me. What kind of colour would you go for?

Yes, I would. Damage to your nails depends on the salon, I think. I've been to a couple of good places, and one bad one that was pretty rough on my nails. They grew out though.

My favourite is a kind of glittery, very dark blue, but that's not very seasonal Grin At the moment I have glittery red. I like a coral or a hot pink too...

Shellac doesn't do any damage to your nails and I say that as a nail technician myself. If you find that your nails are damaged after removal, avoid that salon in future. Teamedward has given good advice. Don't pick, remove properly and use solar oil.

There's dozens of colours to choose from so you need to pop to a salon and have a look. Enjoy the festival!

As a one off I would, in fact I wish I'd thought over the weekend cos Id have got mine done too!!

Lighthousekeeping · 23/06/2014 09:12

So, can I get it done and then go ahead and wash my hair and stuff or should I leave it til the last minute?

If you have a Shellac, it should be dry by the time you leave the salon. I think I bright coral would be lovely for Glasto!

Lighthousekeeping · 23/06/2014 09:45

Can I then carry on and pack and wash my hair or will it chip?

frankietwospots · 23/06/2014 09:48

No, it shouldn't chip. In fact, it shouldn't chip at all if it's a good Shellac!

I had it done before going away recently and it lasted almost two weeks.

I then committed the cardinal sin of picking it off Blush but my nails were fine. A bit dry but I used oil for a few days and Vaseline and they are fine. Need to take it off my toes now - it's been on since 15 May. Have acetone and will take it off properly.

On average, how much would you pay?
