Good quality & value foundation brushes

Any suggestions please? I could do with a foundation brush & a powder brush. I don't want/can't afford to spend a fortune, but I don't want some piece of rubbish I'm going to regret buying either. Have only just started using liquid foundation & am currently using fingers, which is ok but apparently a brush is better (for hiding the peach fuzz).

this is really good if you're looking for a bargain.

Real Techniques stippling brush for foundation. Bloody brilliant.

CottonbudCatastrophe · 21/06/2014 22:50

They both look good, thanks. How easy are they to clean - can you really just use baby shampoo?

These are actually good for the low price www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00H9BB71E/ref=cm_sw_r_udp_awd_UnGPtb0RAFDPF
I have about five, so I'm not forever washing them.
For powder i then use the huge fluffy Ecotoools brush

Another vote for Real Techniques - stippling brush, or the other round face brush one. Often in Boots 3 for 2 offers.

frankietwospots · 22/06/2014 22:29

Yes, I clean mine with baby shampoo.

Real Techniques are great. Mac is more expensive but also quite good - I do find that the bigger powder brushes shed a lot.

When cleaning, I wash them with baby shampoo and not too hot water. Make sure to dry them either lying on a towel or hanging with the brush head down to avoid getting water inside the ferrule (where the glue is) as this tends to ruin the brushes.

Anything by Crown or Zoeva.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 23/06/2014 07:58

Real techniques.

Real techniques brushes. Their ultimate foundation brush is amazing for a flawless face.

Ecotools are excellent too. They have a flat foundation brush which is like too.

Both those brands are inexpensive compared to many. And they are actually the best.

I have some very very expensive Japonesque brushes (5 x the cost of the two above) and they are no where near as good.

WillowMoo · 23/06/2014 09:36

Real techniques or Crown

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 23/06/2014 11:37

Oh yes,I have a couple of ecco tool brushes they're lovely. The body shop ones are very good quality too, especially when you buy on line, they seem to have a sale every other week!

Leviticus · 23/06/2014 12:24

YY to real techniques and EcoTools!

I've seen both in TK Maxx recently too.

auldspinster · 23/06/2014 12:26

Real Techniques Expert Face brush is great for liquid foundation.

DiscoDancer · 23/06/2014 12:59

I saw some real techniques brushes in my local Asda the other day, so will def try them out.

CaulkheadUpNorth · 23/06/2014 13:01

I've got a great Botanics one from boots. I've also got a mac second from eBay. No idea if it's genuine or not but it's so soft I don't really mind.

CottonbudCatastrophe · 24/06/2014 00:01

Excellent, thanks for all the recommendations!
