Day/Night creams - which one should you spend more on?

Just wondering if I should be using a "better quality" day cream or night cream? Or does it really make a difference? Which one has the better effect on your skin? ATM, I use No7 uplifting for both day and night but I'm running out of both. I live in Holland so not all the No7 range is available here, and there's not the same choice as the UK, but would be interested to hear what your views are, or any recommendations.

hello. kando, where in Holland are you? Me too, in Hilversum (expat land!!) I'm having similar worries as have just turned 40 and the wrinkles ar starting to show big time!! BUT, I'm thinking (hoping?!) that lots of these expensive creams are a load of tosh and am relying on Marks and Sparks day and night creams. Lets see what the rest of the old wrinklies think!!

Best thing you can buy is Nivea! The orioginal one in the blue container. and its very cheap!

I alternate with Olay & Clinique (only buy the clinique abroad or when you get free extras with it)

Hi Oxocube, we're in The Hague - also expat land! Been over here a year now and still not quite "used" to it! How long have you been here?
I'm with you regarding the expensive creams - that's why I've been using No7 stuff, but that's not exactly what I would call cheap!

Slight over use of the "!" methinks

You are wasting your money if you buy any expensive day or night creams. Once saw Anita Roddick talking about it and she said any one of the high street moisturisers were suitable and will do no more or less than one costing £50. As long as it suits your skin e.g. using a rich or light moisturiser then you can use any of them

we've been here just over 5 yrs, kando. Food shopping is crap, isn't it!! Well, on your recommendation (well, sort of), I went into Etos this morning and spent a small fortune - 25 euros anyway on a Boots No 7 night cream which will make me look younger in 4 weeks. Hmmmm, we''ll see

God, that's so funny about the food shopping - it really, really is, isn't it?! I'm always having an argument with the checkout operators in the supermarket for being so rude. When I went back to the UK earlier this year, the girl in Tescos asked if I wanted help with my packing - I almost kissed her for even asking!! Hope the cream does what it says - they don't have a great choice in Etos, but let me know how you get on coz that's what I'll be buying next. (I'm assuming it's the hydrating one - I think that's the only one they do isn't it?!)
