'Out out' clothes for grown ups?

Dear all,
I have just returned form a very unsuccessful shopping trip and feel in desperate need of help. I am going out this weekend and I know the evening is going to involve a late night and a few drinks and as this is my first night out post baby I am quite excited about it! I want to buy something new to wear but cannot find anything suitable for my new, ahem, slightly squishy figure. The shops all seem to be full of neon crop tops which are probably not the best option for me right now (or possibly ever again). Does anyone have any ideas of what I could wear and where I could get it from? I'm a size 10 so not big but don't want something revealing! Does such an outfit exist?? TIA!

How about some slim printed cotton trousers and a plain top, plus necklace and heels?

whats your figure like? What shape are you? Do you like your legs?

My legs aren't my best feature if I'm honest- my figure is alright considering that I've got a 3 month old baby but it's not up to wearing my old clothes. I like the printed trouser idea!

How much walking will you be doing and how do you cope with heels? Will you be standing or sitting at a table?

If your lower half is likely to be under a table at a restaurant or bar then go for something comfortable and passable. Focus in a top with a good neckline, hair and make up.

And assume your alcohol tolerance is half what it used to be.

YY re alcohol! :)

I've got these - I like them because a) they are cotton and b) they are not all baggy and MC Hammer-ish.

Or you could go with plain cigarette trousers, and a printed top.
