Those who do the MN haircut..

I have long straight hair, a friend trims the ends/length of my hair now and then.. I trim the fringey bits when I need to..
I have read most of the MN haircut threads, would really like to be able to cut my own hair, I don't want layering etc. just the split ends at the tips, is this possible?
Please help!

I did it. It was fine. I only cut a bit but tempted to do some more. I watched a YouTube

I have been cutting my hair for 2 years now.

Sometimes I do the mumsnt cut but most of the time I do the straight across trim that I saw someone do on YouTube.

I am not as keen on the mumsnet cut.

I mentored a few months ago to a friend that I hadn't been to a hairdresser for a long time and they were very surprised and said they always thought my hair looked so fresh and neat

I can't find the link (it was long time ago but by a Eastern European blonde lady)

She says to wash hair, brush it through with your normal parting.
Bring sections of hair forward and trim each straight across using a mirror to check the overall length. Obviously match up left side with right hand side.

By doing it this way it leaves the hair with a natural curve once it is dry and hanging down your back

To add: it also takes but 5 mins or less even.

So it's something I can just do when I am out of the bath and fancy a trim

Ok thank you! I would be worried about it being uneaven once it's sat on my back if you know what I mean!

I have very curly hair which is particularly forgiving on home haircuts as long as I don't take too much off! I wouldn't attempt a home cut on poker straight hair, or even wavy hair to be honest.

I have done the mumsnet haircut in the past and it looked great but this month I tried this
