Does it follow that the more expensive the (high heeled) shoe the more comfortable it is

Or does comfort depend on a variety of other things?

I'm looking for some high black shoes - they have to be high to go with what I'm planning to wear, but they also have to be comfortable because I'm going to have to be in them for a good portion of the day. Any suggestions please?

Depends on fit. The comfiest heels I ever had were New Look (approx 4 inches high, peep toes) because they fit beautifully. It was a popular style at the time and I had about 4 pairs in different colours and they all fit perfectly. None of the new styles fit anything like as well, alas. With shoes, you have to try them on and be quite ruthless. I don't always manage this.

Sure don't Jimmy Choos et al only have leather soles, and they tell you if you're intending on wearing them outside you have to pay a cobbler to put a sole on them? Because they're designed to be worn from your house, to a limo, to a red carpet. Not for waving down a taxi at 2am while holding a bag of chips.

Find M&S and Clarks to be very comfy, but a PP's right- they don't get the style quite right for proper going out shoes. Grand for work though. I get a lot of my heels out of Next because they do half sizes.

For me upper high st- whistles, leather zara (not trf), reiss are way better than any m&s, next etc I've had
I think it's the full leather which makes the difference
For proper upper end- much or a muchness but mostly which are prettiest all from eBay so prob unfair comparison

Russell and Bromley - expensive, if you lOok after them their footwear lasts well. Pricey yes compared to some. Buy in sale if possible :-) Every pair of shoes sandals boots from them - perfectly comfortable, not a single settling in blister. Heels - good and made me appreciate good geometry and engineering in a shoe. Now live abroad and guess who's on the list of shops to hit when I visit the UK? Sorry for the long post but loyal customer with happy feet
