Stylish And Practical Backpack

I will be travelling with my 2yo this summer and need a stylish and practical backpack. Needs to hold toys, food, change of clothes, and my stuff too! Will be used for plane + train journeys, & citytrips., so it needs to be light & versatile. Many thanks!

I really like the look of these zatchels rucksacks but can't comment on durability etc.

I have also heard good things about kanken - they seem to have a lot of different sizes, shapes and colours - start at their homepage.

And final one - ally capellino

MrPop, you have great taste! The Zatchels are gorgeous. Getting seriously sidetracked here lol thanks for the suggestions!

none of those have hip belts so make sure they are only very lightly loaded. While you don't need (or presumably want!) a huge rucksack, these are only fashion handbags so do keep the load down to save your back.

Good point Special. I might need to pack more stuff than is sensible with a standard backpack. A hipbelt would probaby be needed on some occasions.

Love Kankens!

Can't link as am on iPad, but have you looked at Healthy back bags? They come in three sizes and are cross body but sort of rucksacky too. I have the medium one and it's great for days out with my five year old. For a smaller child when you're carrying more of their stuff, you'd probably want the biggest sizeGrin

The ones suggested are very fashionable, but very expensive, and I wonder how practical for all the different things you want to carry.

If you don't mind having an actual backpack that is moderate sized, a reasonable colour (subjective I know), and has good comfort with shoulder/back padding, a waist belt, and multiple pockets for easy access to different things then maybe something like this from Mountain Centre might suit:
