Liz Earle cleanse and polish query

I got a free sample of this from John Lewis and its been working fine so far apart from two issues. One is that it doesn't remove all my eye make up like it's supposed to do and last night I left it on my face while I did something rather than take if off straight away and my face went like a beetroot but it's fine when I remove it straight away. I also don't want to have to buy a separate eye make up remover with this as it's supposed to be an all in one product. Has anyone else had the same problems with this?

It's too harsh for me, they changed the formula a few years back and I really notice it.

Are you using enough? Double cleansing?

My skin hated it, it dried it out and created lots of little bumps on my cheeks.

Me too squoosh it really didn't suit my skin fuming as I bought the cleanser, face tonic and moisturiser so was a bit of a waste

Thanks for your replies. I find the cleanser ok if I remove it straight away. Does anyone have an alternative suggestion for eczema prone skin?

Micellar water.

Squoosh it gave me little bumps as well. Did yours ever disappear? I stopped using cleanse and polish a few weeks ago and the feckers are still there.

I have eczema prone skin and can't cope with Liz Earle so I use Clinique take the day off cleansing balm. here

I do tend to put a bit on some cotton wool first just to take a layer of my eye make up off and then I do the whole of my face (inc eyes again) using a muslin in the same way you would with the Liz Earle.

It is really gentle, no stinky stuff and leaves no residue even though it is a balm. It also lasts ages.

Try Shu Uemura cleansing oil. Takes everything off and v gentle and thorough. A bit ££ but lasts ages.

REN is nice and have recently bought the LE equivalent of cleanse and polish.
It's £16 ish but you only need a tiny amount and it did remove eye make up too but needed a good rubbing over!
Clinique cleansers are very gentle- the cream cleanser in a tube is lovely and if you use a cloth of your own, then you still get the polish effect.

I also have Clinique take the day off and love it. It's unfragranced and really gentle
Otherwise I use coconut oil
