Trousers for slim one year old

My DS has recently got too tall for his 9-12 month trousers so I have gone out and bought him a selection of 12-18 month trousers and they all seem to be massive on the waist. I got him trousers from mothercare, M&Co, debenhams, next and gap - it seems that the only ones that fit him are the gap and next trousers and they were £££ I can't really afford to buy more of these brands so does anyone know of any cheaper shops that do a slimmer waist??

You need adjustabile waists.
H&M are good for slightly bigger boys. Not sure at age 1, but worth a look. Tesco are hit and miss on adjustable waists, but always worth a look, but do a size sanity check before buying - some seem to be very very wide around the waist.

Next, some M&S trousers also have adjustable waists.

Or, its summer. He can live in shorts and long sleeved teeshirts........

I have found H & M to be quite small sized for my sons
Also have you checked inside the waistband if there is the elastic / button adjuster - most baby or boys trousers have these - u can pull them in and the waist shrinks

I have a slim one too. jojo usually do adjustable waists - expensive, but there are often some in the outlet bit of the website for £5, and they last really well.

Primarks trousers are usually elasticated at the waist. Cheap and cheerful. We have lots from Gap outlets and they have adjustable waists.

H&M. Vertbaudet do different fits so you can get 12months slim, regular or full fit.

H&m and Sainsburys are good for skinny ones. Agree that the waist adjusters are critical but you also need the legs to be narrow enough that you don't end up with races of fabric bunching round their wee tummies. At least with my slim girl, I can put her in leggings but v little nice boy leggings around.

I stock up on Next jeans in the sales - they're the only ones that reliably fit and I've wasted so much money elsewhere. I buy 3-4 pairs of jeans and a 2-pack of joggers, that does him for a size. Then cheapo t-shirts etc from H and M etc. I dress myself similarly - good jeans (Diesel via TK Maxx) and Primark tees Grin

buy second hand from ebay, not so much dosh and they grow out of clothes so quick it's not worth buying new. also as they get older buy for their size not the age they are on the hanger. very little difference in sizes for a tshirt but buying a bit bigger gets a few more months wear
