I sleep in my make up. Yes I am a skank, help me become a better person!

As the title really.

I sleep in my make up, everyday. I just can't be bothered to wash it off. On the occasional nights I use a baby wipe to smear off what's left on my face from the day I seem to wake up looking worse?

Even worse...all I do is splash a bit of water on my skin or wash my hair etc in the bath then moisturise with astral cream (reminds me of my late mum) and that's it. My skincare routine.

Bizarrely, I have really clear skin apart from I get the occasional spot in my hairline.
It is however quite dull and greyish.

Can anyone give me some advice for a starting point? I've only just read about hot cloth cleansing on mumsnet recently and would like to give it a go. Was thinking the superdrug radiance one? Anything else I should try, toners? Exfoliators? Eye cream? Day/night cream? Serum? There's just so many products I feel overwhelmed!

Btw, my skin is probably normal to dry, possible leaning more towards dry.

I don't wash it off at night either. If I can be arsed I use a make up remover wipe. I wash with soap in a morning and use moisteriser. I don't wear foundation though.

I wear el double wear foundation, so super heavy and cakey Blush

www.boots.com/en/Garnier-Micellar-Cleansing-Water-400ml_1440752/ - i have recently started using this and it is really good. Gets make up off quickly and easily, no need to rinse. It also seems to be getting rid of the stubborn spots on my chin that have been flaring up on and off for weeks. I use cotton wool pads with it. I moisturise afterwards

I have just been looking at some micellar cleansing water on superdrugs website, it's only £2 odd. I'll stick it in my basket Grin

I get confused with all the different brands and wonder if I should be buying high end products, then doubt myself and end up with nothing!

Well, no real advice but I had to post because I slept in my make up last night for the first time in about twenty years! Even when I've had a lot to drink I take my make up off, I can't understand what happened last. But I realised as soon as I woke up because my face felt tight and shiny somehow? So if you can get yourself into a routine of taking it off you might get to like the morning feeling?

I'll hazard a guess and say you're quite young? If so, you can get prob get away with it for now but you might be storing up problems for the future. Go to a couple of the make up counters and ask for skin care advice - don't necessarily buy all they try to flog you, just take their advice, and then decide which products you like and can see yourself incorporating into a daily routine. I cleanse, tone and moisturise every night (with the exception of last night obviously :)), but just use toner in the mornings.

I'm 26 so young-ish, yes I'm worried im going to wake up and have turned into a withered old prune during the night!

I used to do this quite a lot in my twenties. Wouldn't dream of it now (35) in fact the very thought gives me a panicky feeling Grin

If it's a can't be bothered thing, do what I do and get it off early evening. I do it now in between dinner and the kids' bedtime, then I can relax for the evening all cleansed and moisturised and go to bed when I get tired.

I use cream cleanser (Ultrabland for eye make-up, Weleda for the rest) and a hot flannel. Takes seconds.

I was going to recommend micellar water too. I like to wipe over with a hot flannel after too.
