So I went to book in at my local eyebrow place to have lash extensions this week - but they count fifer me a suitable time. Due to the they offered me the chance to have the done at a suitable time, free, but by someone learning how to do it. Apparently the head eyelash technician from the franchise wil be there to oversee what s going on. What are prs and cons - should I just BO for it and save myself a load of money ?

I've had mine done by two different people & one was much better, can you ask whether the trainee has ever done them before? If it's the first time it will take her much longer.

I've had last extensions pretty much constantly for the last couple of years (had a couple of small breaks to allow my lash's to recover though). The only time I've had them with a trainee was the one time I was really unhappy, a large bunch of them got twisted together in a massive clump. When that came out it took a lot of my natural lashes with them so I had a big bald spot. Slowly the rest came out too, again taking quite a few of my own lash's with. The beautician think's that she used too long a size, with too big a curl. After that experience I have always payed full price since and had them done by someone with a lot of experience. The problem with eyelash extensions is that you can't hide them if they go wrong, you can only get them removed. You also don't know the outcome until it's finished.

An hour and a half is what my normal full lash extension takes by an experienced beautician, the trainee took just over 2hours which is a long time to be laying flag without moving!

I got my nails done a few weeks ago by a trainee, instead of the usual 40 mins it took 3 hours and they turned out horrible. I had to fix them myself when I got home and she also filed too much on one nail leaving it sore and tender. The lecturer watching wasn't too amused.
