Quick poll…do you wash your hair even if stuck in for days on own (to feel better rather than how it looks)

Have come down with flu very quickly
Looks like I'll be holed up for days, no one's going to see me, DP's doing 12 - 14 hour days so only him late at night or first thing
So, do you wash hair when feeling poo, more for feeling fresher rather than for looks? I mean if you are literally not leaving house and no one visiting
I feel like not bothering as it would make me so dizzy and exhausted to wash and dry. But I also know i'll regret not doing so in the next 48 hours! Dry shampoo makes is feel a bit cloggy and manky (i.e. still greasy, but can't get a comb through it)

I wash mine every 4 days, absolutely hate the faff of drying/straightening even though I do feel so much better after washing it. My hair is the one thing I would pay good money for if I had it!

(Money that is, not hair)

I always wash my hair if it's greasy even if I'm sickly. Feel gross otherwise - But once washed I would just brush it through and let it dry naturally with towel on pillow / on shoulders or tie it up in a bun. Couldn't be bothered with blow-drying.

LettertoHerms · 03/06/2014 11:41

I wouldn't if I was ill, especially dizzy and weak.

If I was desperate, I would as DP to help.

Yep.

I live feeling ill like I've got flu every single day (MS) and so have to, else it never happens.

Corygal · 03/06/2014 13:36

Why not just wash it while in bath/under shower and let it dry naturally. Ignore styling faffery.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 03/06/2014 13:59

How are you feeling OP?Smile

Meow75 · 03/06/2014 14:08

I'm perfectly healthy today and haven't washed anything except my hands after using the loo.

My hair is uber short but I use a breathing mask at night which fits over the back of my head so every morning is "through hedge backwards" time. I feel itchy and grim until I've had a shower, but I just can't be arsed right now. Done 4 loads of laundry and a dishwasher load since breakfast. And it rained this morning when the forecast reckoned dry till noon so some of my earlier loads are strewn around the house whilst most recent is out on the line.

I just can't be doing with washing my hair or body right now. Maybe later, definitely tomorrow.

Hope you feel better soon, OP.

The quickest way for me to feel better is to wash my hair, so if at all possible I try to gather strength and do it no matter how unappealing that idea might look at first. I feel fresher and generally so much better afterwards so I never regret it.

Petal02 · 03/06/2014 18:08

I would have to be physically incapable of washing my hair before I'd let it start looking/feeling unwashed. But I'd be just the same if I lived on a desert island, I do it for my own benefit, it makes me feel better. I would also wear mascara on a desert island ....

alltoomuchrightnow · 03/06/2014 21:07

I managed it, and felt a lot better for it. I had had a steaming session with Friar's Balsam which worked wonders but hair was sweaty sticking to head mess so i washed after. However I' m feeling decidedly crap again and finding it hard to breathe so i'm going to have to steam again. whenever my hair gets steamy it always turns greasy . grrr.. so that clean feeling did not last long but i can't have another night of no sleep at all, i need to breathe!
