Hot cloth cleansing - how to while on holiday?

Do you take your cloths with you?
Or use a disposable alternative?
Or something else?

I don't fancy having several soggy muslin squares with me when we go on holiday! Confused

I take the cloth with me and just hang it up somewhere to dry.

Take with you. Lighter and cheaper than trying to find something disposable, and a muslin square dries very, very quickly.

I went on a sun holiday for 10 nights a couple of weeks ago. I brought 3 flannels with me and rotated them. Muslin does dry much more quickly so that may be a good option for you

JuanFernandezTitTyrant · 02/06/2014 13:20

Take them with me - but I have some coloured flannels for this purpose; more than one has been swept up by a chambermaid with the hotel's own towels.

What's all this about? Sounds interesting!

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 02/06/2014 15:26

I take a cloth and wash it with soap and hang it to dry - easy peasy!

MooMinCow · 02/06/2014 16:17

I normally go through my pile of muslins and take the oldest ones with me, use them for the holiday then bin them! No washing, and no damp cloths to bring home!

Self catering, I just took a few and boiled them in a pan.

AI, I took all our old flannels (10) and just binned them each day. They were past it anyway. Bought new, but cheap, ones to replace in the hope that they will be as threadbare next time we go away somewhere that doesn't provide flannels.

It goes a little against the grain as I hate waste and would normally have used these as decorating rags etc. so hoping a better solution comes up here.

I'm afraid I'm ridiculously a bit fussy about having a clean cloth each day so couldn't just hang them up to dry.

"I just took a few and boiled them in a pan."

Isn't that a bit OTT? What is wrong with washing them in a bit of soap and water? It isn't as if you have used them on anywhere other than your face.

I wash mine with soap and water after every use so would have a new machine washed cloth abut 2 or 3 times a week. I have perfectly clear skin.

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 02/06/2014 17:07

I just use the flannels that I take for the DCs faces, rinse and hang up to dry.

Stripytop · 02/06/2014 20:08

bunbaker I boiled them in a pan in lieu of a washing machine.

I can't see the point of cleaning my face with something that isn't clean. If I've already used them they're likely to have sun cream and mascara on at the very least. Possibly foundation too. A quick rinse isn't going to clean that off.

I quite often boil the dishcloths on holiday too as I like a clean one of those everyday too. They all go in together.

I would like to state, before I am labelled as a clean freak, that this is just about all the 'cleaning' I do on holiday.
