She has sensitive skin so for years used my tgel (as a baby johnsons caused her to break out & bleed) I never realised under 12s weren't supposed to use tgel so oops!

But the hairdresser said its making he hair very dry.

She's a dancer so has her hair in a bun every day & uses hair gel to keep it in (hairspray is banned at school due to asthma/sensitive fire alarms.

She's been using a redken shampoo but its very expensive.

She is age 12 by the way.

What about trying co-washing (I think that's what it's called) where you condition first so the oils can start to break down the gel, and then wash. I do it with the Loreal silicone and sulphate free as my scalp is horribly sensitive. If you get them on offer they're reasonably priced too

I use a Paul Mitchell clarifying to clean my hair which has a tendency to be greasy. I'd suggest you try that one as it's gentle but still cleanses well.

Try the body shop

If she uses a lot of products like gel, then she needs to use a clarifying shampoo, not a sulfate free one as they don't get rid of the product build up.

I've never heard if clarifying shampoo before so I will investigate - thanks

Aussie Mega Shampoo is really good for de-gunking hair. It smells lovely, leaves hair squeaky clean but not dry and doesn't break the bank.
