When do breastfeeding breasts go back to normal? Bra intervention needed.

Basically, I fed my dd till her second birthday, which was last week. My boobs now seem back to normal (new normal, after two years of feeding...) and I need to go and buy new, nice, proper bras, but want to get the right size, based on all the intervention stuff I've seen on here.

How long does it take for them to go to their natural size after stopping? We were down to 1 or 2 feeds a day by the two months. Also, can someone point me to the best bra intervention information please? Thanks a lot.

Start with the blog thebetterbracampaign.blogspot.co.uk/p/fitting-advice.html

In terms of when they go "back to normal" - it's very individual as to when your size will stabilize again, but if you were only feeding a couple of times a day then the difference shouldn't be that significant. But I would maybe only buy a couple of bras just to start with and see how you progress - breast size and shape changes constantly for many women

Ok, done it. Apparently I'm a 32F. Seems incredible, but ok. I know M and S are seen as a no go place for fitting - what about their bras - are they no good either? Where should I look for bras if not M and S?

M&S bras aren't great tbh - they don't scale them up properly for larger cup sizes, and their sizing seems to be all over the place.

The best shop, if you have one, is Bravissimo as they will make sure everything fits really well. Failing that, Debenhams, John Lewis or House of Fraser all have a selection of different brands which are good. Their fitting services aren't reliable though so you will probably need to fly solo. The Debenhams Gorgeous range is notorious for sunning small btw, so if that's too small in a 32 it doesn't mean you won't need a 32 in most other brands.

Ok, having looked at some 32Fs in bravissimo, they are just huge. I cannot possibly be that size, surely?!

I was a 33" under bust and 40" above by the way.

32F is not huge, it just sounds like it is!

Depending on where the weight and placement of your breast tissue is, two people wearing different styles in the same size will look and feel very different.

Two extremes are this Freya style which is quite wide at the base and does not project very far forward and Cleo style which is very narrow at the sides and pushes forward. If you are at one end of the extreme, a bra at the other end will look and feel very odd.

As a warning, my boobs went back to normal a couple of months after the last feed. Before that they had been smaller than pre-pg. Now they are back to the same size (although floppier), which is 32f.

I only breast feed from one side. My non feeding breast looks at least 2 x smaller than the one I feed from

Ok thanks - v useful to know indeed, both that it might take a couple of months and the different styles info. Thanks a lot.
