Do miracles really exist (in swimsuit form)?

Artura · 31/05/2014 23:34

Need a swimsuit to work miracles. Have a flat bum, saggy tum and formerly voluptuous bosom that is heading south after having two babies close together.

Tried one of those fifties style costumes but think they'd look better on an hourglass than an apple. Bit baggy round the bum.

Wondering about ordering a load of sizes from Lands End, maybe Spanx swimwear (are the high prices really worth it?), speedo sculpting... Any other suggestions? Anyone with big boobs (I'm a 32 E) had any luck with a miraclesuit? Again not sure if the eye watering prices worth it....

It ain't worth paying a fortune on swimwear, especially when you will be going in either chlorine or salt water. You might feel selfconscious, but when you get out there and see everyone else letting it "all hang out" you'll wonder what you were worrying about. I'd say love your body, it's given you two beautiful babies!

I'm an Apple and recently had the horror of shopping for a swimsuit. This is the only one I looked marginally less disgusting in. It comes with straps and has tummy control.

Well that's annoying, I paid full price for it!

Artura · 01/06/2014 11:18

Thanks Merlin for the positive words. My little ones love squishing my flabby tum, but would be nice to look all glam by the pool for a change. I've ordered a few costumes from debenhams, koothra, their prices seem pretty good at the mo. Will feed back after a trying on session. Does that one give enough support to the boobs? Haven't looked at bandeau tops so far.

I like the Speedo sculpture swimsuits, I've had three and they last well and I feel suitably supported without being uncomfortable.
I think they're worth the extra!

Koothrapanties · 01/06/2014 13:59

It's got good padding, but I haven't got mmassive boobs.

Oly4 · 01/06/2014 14:34

My last swimsuit was m&s, it was a support/sculpt one and is brilliant

Artura · 01/06/2014 20:53

What speedo swimsuits have you liked, Jesse? I've ordered this one speedo
And this one speedo
There's also a bluish green version, would have liked some other colours to chose from.

Indian that's just like the one I suggested to op :) I have found it to be the most flattering style for a big tummy.

I have that next one and didn't look great on me -the bandeau bit across didn't do anything for my boobs (I also can't wear the hundreds of bandeau style maxidresses that are everywhere)
I found a similar style but with halter neck straps instead was a lot more flattering -M&S and Next I managed to get from -both sculpt and support type ones.

Artura · 02/06/2014 21:12

Think you're right, stardust, can't see a bandeau holding up my baps, going to try and find a halter neck with tum support. Had a look at m&s but nothing fitted that well. Maybe need to look at bra sized swimsuits.

M & S and Debenhams have loads of swimwear options with built in support. I saw loads of women wearing unsupportive swimsuits/bikinis on holiday last week and it is not a good look.

frankietwospots · 02/06/2014 21:35

BHS have some lovely swimsuits at the moment with tummy control. I bought one today. I can't get the link to work but it's called Animal Palm.

ShoeWhore · 02/06/2014 23:36

I just bought this one from Bravissimo and I'm really pleased with it - it's very flattering, lifts up and smooths in all the right places!

BelleateSebastian · 03/06/2014 07:21

I got one from 'Simply be' its got adjustable straps, proper bust support, tummy control and the best bit is it has a tie belt thing around the waist that when you untie it drops into a skirt for when you feel a bit self concious, I usually hate skirty swimsuits but this is ace, quite pricey £45 but so worth it!

lucyintheskywithdinos · 03/06/2014 10:23

Actually, tesco have a decent range of 50's halter supportive swimming costumes at the moment.

I'm a size 12, 34DD, have a belly and no curves. I was really surprised my how flattering and supportive it is and £15 too!

This is the one I have

Artura · 04/06/2014 21:59

Right, feedback on my debenhams parcel, arrived today. This one :-
speedo
Fab, very simple but adjustable straps make it a great fit, good boob support, tummy flattened. Sadly they didn't have a purple size 10 when I ordered (got a 10 in the black) and think the 12 is slightly less flattering. So dithering whether to keep the black 10 or nice bright purple 12.
The other speedo wrap
Quite nice but 10 a bit small and not so good on the boobs.
This one freya although bra sized had too small cups (32e) and a too long body.
This one crossover is a nice design, and good tummy hiding but just didn't look right on the boobs.

So think I'll be sticking with a speedo, but please keep sending other suggestions!

I like the first one the best.

Stripytop · 04/06/2014 22:09

I am a 34f and have bought one of these every holiday for the last 3 years.

They are brilliantly flattering and hold everything firmly together. Initially I was a bit Shock about spending that much but they've been worth every penny. JL usually have them available all year round and change the patterns and colours regularly.

Bunbaker · 04/06/2014 22:12

Why would you need a new swimsuit every year? I took an 8 year old bikini on holiday this year.

ohmymimi · 04/06/2014 22:12

There is a swimsuit range called Miraclesuit!

I've had a few suits from Tesco, they are very good value for money and excellent quality for the price.

I've bought 50s style halter necks from Peacocks and TK Maxx this year.

Stripytop · 04/06/2014 22:14

Bully for you bunbaker Hmm

Artura · 04/06/2014 22:14

That does look good, Stripy, might have a little try on if I get a chance to go shopping.
Glad you like the purple speedo, Bun, think that's my current fave and might swap the 12 for a 10 if they don't charge for returns/swaps.
