Have any of you ever used an epilator on your face?

Because I did three days ago, on my chin, and the whole area is still itchy and extremely bumpy. Admittedly I did not prepare my skin by opening up the pores plus this is the first time I've ever done it, so here's hoping.

The gadget I used is this one by the way: www.amazon.co.uk/Emjoi-AP-9L-Travel-Compact-Epilator/dp/B00008SJXL/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1401348000&sr=8-1&keywords=facial+epilator

I thought it was very easy to use, the pain bearable and if it wasn't for this bumpy rash I have all over the shaved area I would use it on my tashe too!!

I have been applying sudocrem all over the are every night. What else can I do to help the bumpy rash go away, prevent sports from coming out and also prevent infection? Or should I leave the area alone now?

I have used my epilator on my chin before, it's not a special one for the face, it's the one I use on my legs. It didn't bring me out in a rash or bumps, well, I'm a bit bumpy there anyway due to constantly plucking out the little bstrds! I didn't prepare my skin either in any way.

Would some gentle exfoliating with a bit of sugar in olive oil help maybe, followed by aloe vera gel?

Btw I also used my epilator on my tache - not a good move, I caught my lip Shock It bled a lot and was VERY sore. Not to be recommended. Obviously with one recommended for use on the face it would be easier.

Thanks kazza. I am not sure what to do. I've just taken a look and all the angry bumpy red spots are now pus filled (sorry TMI). Quite ironic isn't it? trying to solve a cosmetic issue by creating an even worse one. I don't think I'll be leaving the house for a couple of days Sad.

Oh no Sad Dab something antiseptic on and then leave them to calm down? I hope they go away soon.

I've bought some aloe vera and witch hazel but I feel the spots will stay here for their duration of their 'natural' lifespan, so 10 days. A few months ago I waxed my tashe with microwave wax and I also got the area covered in tiny white sports but no red rash like now. I don't know what I'm going to try next...

I know, it's difficult isn't it? I've given up and gone back to using Veet cream. It makes me sore and red for a couple of hours and grows back quickly, but better than anything else it seems. Waxing was leaving me with deep furrowed wrinkles in that area! Shock

I get spots from plucking sometimes, best thing is tea tree to dry them out then sudocream at night. During the day, something calming like aloe Vera cream/gel

Maybe you need to disinfect after waxing your facial hair?
Simplest (maybe a bit drying) would be surgical spirit. Or as said above tea tree oil.
