Right, im getting married in 5 weeks ive currently got my hair dyed RED and have had it this colour for ages, I really really want to go back to a rich chocolatey brown which is my natural colour but whenever ive tried this before the red always shows through. How do I get there......without the cash to go to the hairdresser? (I blew the dress budget!)

Nice n Easy Cool medium Brown is about the best one to help eradicate red.

It's 117d for easy reference.

Maybe do a ColourB4 first to strip the red and then the Nice n Easy?

Good luck!! lol sorry not helpful but red is such a bastard to get rid of. An ash brown might remove the red tones more though

Definitely buy some colourB4. I used the exact same dye as you for two years, and also the shade above which is slightly brighter towards the end and colourB4 was the only thing that got rid of it. Tried loads of different 'cool' shades of brown but nothing worked. It's time consuming but works so well if you follow the instructions properly. It left my hair a light strawberry blonde colour (I'm naturally mid brown) and then I used a semi permanent light brown straight away and only had a very slight hint of red in my hair, which had faded after a dyed my hair again a few weeks later. Also, it didn't damage my hair and it was still in very good condition afterwards Smile

that sounds promising Felix, I have some colourB4 upstairs but wasn't sure if it would damage my hair I will look at semi permanent dyes tomorrow.

Pick a very light coloured semi permanent dye if you're going to use the colourB4, as your hair is quite porous after using it and will turn a lot darker than expected when you dye it. If you look at the reviews on the Boots website, people have posted lots of good tips for using it too.
