I've been reading on other threads ladies mentioning they are wearing dresses with leggings, can you please suggest some I can order online to wear with leggings because I'm not sure what styles would look good. Thanks :)

I thinks you need to make sure that the dress isn't too long or it might look a little frumpy.

Maybe look for tunic style dresses?

I'm pregnant and this will be my look when I start to get bigger but I know some mumsnetters are very anti leggings and dresses as a frumpy look!

I'll try to find some dresses that might look good with leggings!

SnapeAndLily · 28/05/2014 10:51

I tend to wear leggings with White Stuff dresses.

I have this in two colours. They do loads of versions now and long sleeve. Best way is to go on the matalan site and put jersey dress in the search bar, it will bring them all up. Looks crap on the model on matalan but it's lovely

amariuk.com has some nice ones.

goodasitgets · 30/05/2014 00:55

I would wear that dorothy perkins one with leggings and a waist belt Smile

WildThong · 30/05/2014 01:02

Agree with haggis about Amari. I have three, all bought from TKMaxx in the last few weeks.

Haggisfish3 · 30/05/2014 01:51

Ooooh I didn't realise tkmaxx stocked them! I always buy them off the website. Thanks for that tip!

yazzy85 · 30/05/2014 09:49

wow some really pretty tunics on that site, thanks for sharing :)

haggis
You're welcome. Grin

I have the spotty skirt and two dresses that are currently on sale. I mean £16! It would be rude not to!
Amari

yazzy85 · 30/05/2014 10:39

I wear leggings with really short dresses that might otherwise be indecent without them to stop the look being frumpy :-)

WildThong · 30/05/2014 11:14

Yazzy, Yes, I am a bit addicted to TKMaxx at the moment. They have had some really good brands/nice stuff for sale recently. Using the website means not having to rummage through a pile of tat as well which is a bonus!

SuperFlyHigh · 30/05/2014 11:20

I tend to go for tunic style dresses but these ones would work just as well:-

Thanks so much for mentioning Amari - I've not heard of them before. What is the quality like? I bought a top from White Stuff, but wasn't impressed with the quality.

WildThong · 30/05/2014 12:37

Amari quality is nice, not natural fabrics mind, but perfect for wash and wear with no ironing. Hangs lovely on. I bought primarily for holidays as I can roll them up small and not worry about creasing.

FestiveRoad · 30/05/2014 12:46

Great. Thanks WildThong.

revolutionarytoad · 30/05/2014 13:07

I think the dress fabric has to be heavier than the legging fabric. Like, you shouldn't be able to wear the leggings on their own because they'd be seethrough IYSWIM.
I know some people who wear both together and they look fab and not frumpy at all!

Sorry. I realise that's not v. helpful...!

Petal02 · 30/05/2014 17:16

I agree with Bodicea, I wear leggings with dresses/tunics that would be obscenely short on their own, it stops the 'frumpy' look.

yazzy85 · 30/05/2014 17:26

that makes sense, I should be looking more for tunic dress styles then
