Stylish rain coat for summer

Yes sorry I know, it's been done a million times but I've looked at old threads and can't find what I need so wondering if there's any new ideas. Grin

I would like a stylish, lightweight but waterproof hooded jacket for rainy days. Doesn't need to be warm, I have a Merrell Haven coat for winter.

It needs to cover bum, have a hood, and look reasonably fashionable to wear with skinnies etc. I think navy, grey or black would be my best colour option but I'm open to suggestion, definitely not anything patterned though.

I really like this but I already have a khaki coat. Actually I already have two. It also comes in red but I'm not convinced. If they had it in navy blur it would be perfect:

I've had a Animal waterproof coat, a Superdry coat before, and a North Face. They are fine but the style isn't stylish. Too boxy wouldn't buy again. Same for North Face. I want something more fashionable that can be worn to work or shopping etc.

My MiL has the popular Fat Face one, so I wouldn't get that. The Sea Salt styles wouldn't suit me at all. Same for Boden. I am petite and anything shapeless looks crap. None of the long, tall Scandi brands look right on me. I can't afford Aigle, don't want a Barbour as DP has one.

There are loads of really warm waterproofs I like, but I need something lightweight.

A hooded stylish waterproof mac would be great. Can't find any though.

Any other ideas? Thanks!

I have that Target Dry parka in the khaki and wore it lots last summer. It is lightweight, easy to throw in the car and does the job. If I'm honest, I wear it more for walking the dog than walking around town. I wear this one (I have both colours) for when I want to look more stylish, but it is absolutely not waterproof! www.hm.com/gb/product/15654?article=15654-C

Watching with interest, exactly what I'm looking for and have yet to find.

In general I've found Zara and H&M coats good for petite builds but wouldn't count on them to be hugely waterproof.

Watching too - I'm after something like this as well.

I like the marmot high street in white blue but it only seems to be available in the US.

Hmm this in blue might work

Had one from Next last year, it's fab. Very waterproof and lightweight. Little similar to the one in the link above but red. Was about £25 from memory and I used it loads.

Paddingtonthebear · 27/05/2014 12:28

Can't see anything like that on their website ??

I still love my Merrell Wakefield. I bought it in the deluge of a summer we had two years ago and it's still going strong. I'm not sure if they make it anymore or if they've renamed it but they occasionally pop up on eBay. It was the most money I'd ever spent on a coat and I've not regretted it for a second.

Valsoldknickers · 27/05/2014 13:17

Try Ilse Jacobsen? Eventhough it is a Scandi brand and I am a short-arse, I still get away with mine. Not boxy at all, waterproof and breathable.

tethersend · 27/05/2014 13:25

this is nice
