Please? Tried hunters (not sure which style) but they looked flappy and hideous on me and only reached mid-calf! I'm after properly knee height close fitting fully waterproof, warm but non-hideous wellies. Willing to invest if really worth it. Thanks.

You could look at ilse Jacobsen lace up rubber boots. The long ones of those are pretty long (not sure re knee length). They are completely waterproof and warmer than wellies. They are pretty pricy generally but I randomly got some off amazon for £40 a while ago, admittedly they are pink but I'm only wearing them in circumstances where I don't care.

Thanks, MF, intrigued by those circumstances! Shall google that brand. Not heard of before.

Look good but cant find height. Are you tall? Not exceotionally so - 5'9" but v long legs.

Aigle are nice and close fitting and really robust. Not sure about length, but definitely worth a look. Far better than Hunters but less pricey than Le Chameau.

Dubarry
Very worthwhile investment

SouthernHippyChick · 25/05/2014 12:44

Do they come up long?

Yes I have long bones in my legs and are ok for me but too long for friend! Come into her knee!

mysteryfairy · 25/05/2014 15:14

I'm about 5ft 10.5 and reasonably long legged. Circumstances are only mud etc. I wouldn't want to wade in a stream in them but they've been fine for everything else

I have Musto boots. I have had them for years and they are dry, warm and comfortable. You can wade through mud and streams in them and they are completely waterproof. I paid £150 for them and was a bit Shock at the price but they have been worth every penny.

bubalou · 25/05/2014 23:28

Do they have to be wellies? I'm an avid all weather dog walker and go through farm land and mud and all sorts and the best and most comfortable boots I have ever had are karrimoor leather boots.

You can get them for a great price in sports direct.

Won't buy anything else now.
