muffin top

Yes I have changed my name for this
I want to know how the hell I have a muffin top.
It doesn't matter what I wear, trousers, skirts, jeans etc there is a distinct muffin top.
Go up a size? But here is the problem. They are already massive. To the point I can shove easily a fist down the waist, plus there is extra space. Go down a size and the muffin is worse.
Then another problem is with bottoms with a fistful of space, the tops roll over.
Wear a belt, muffin looks worse. Or I am forever unrolling and hoicking up clothes.

Help?

tone up perhaps? pilates?

Higher waist and a belt?

MyrtleDove · 25/05/2014 01:42

What size are you? Maybe try things designed for pear shapes? I have the Evans pear shape jeans and they are excellent - properly fitted at the waist, no gaping at all.

High waisted trousers & skirts would seem the best option. Very flattering.

Wear shift dresses or jumpsuits. Or wear bigger tops and tuck them in loosely so the muffin is disguised (only works for a slight muffin and never with jeans)

Slightly cropped blazers/jackets ending at your hip bone will skim and draw the eye down.

Shape wear?

MegMogandOwlToo · 25/05/2014 10:55

Is your underwear too small? Poorly fitting underwear will create a muffin top.

Speaking as someone with the same problem nearly two years post second baby I have decided the only thing to do is tone up as much as I can to make a difference.
Try Jillian Micheals. 6 week 6 pack

As others have said its probably your underwear. Wear a lycra based vest under your clothes to smooth everything out and work on your core muscles?

I have the same issue.
I wear longer tops with leggings/jeans a lot.
Fitted jackets with jeans and a top as well. High waisted jeans with a belt otherwise I am always hoiking my jeans up.
I wear a lot of plain block colour tops and put the detail in the bottoms.
I am not a fan of shapewear though. Doesn't make me feel any thinner and is uncomfortable.
Maternity leggings in a smaller size are also my secret.

oh and a nice spring scarf can hide a multitude of sins :-)
