Changing bag that's not a 'typical' changing bag? Can anyone help?

After 'the' changing bag having gone through several that are not quite right

I'd like it to be;

  • navy, black or tan
  • no pictures or patterns like cakes or birds or anything 'cutesy'
  • handles and long strap
  • not a backpack

Doesn't have to be an actual changing bag, I'd love to have something a bit 'different' to the usual types you see

Budget around £100 ish

Really appreciate any ideas people might have

Thanks again

I´m very un helpful because I was going to say stocksac. Have you looked to see if you can find one second hand?

bluewisteria · 24/05/2014 16:28

This looked like a good site, with this as an example... but only a long handle

You can buy a handbag 'inner/liner' so to speak that is a nappy bag, thus buying any bag or using one you already have

It's brown, not tan, and is a change bag, but I have this one
I get lots of compliments on it, in fact one or two friends have bought it on my recommendation. I've been using it for nearly 3 years and it still looks great.

Familyguyfan · 24/05/2014 16:41

What about the il tutto nino? It comes in red, navy and black, has side handles and a strap and doesn't look like a changing bag. I have it in red and got it for just over £100. It's fabulous and I'll keep using it when there is no need for nappies!

MoreBoober · 24/05/2014 16:44

I use one of these

Somanyillustrations · 24/05/2014 16:46

I'm considering this at the moment

MissMilliment · 24/05/2014 16:48

I carried a small portable changing mat in the bag of my choice, depending which bag I wanted to use that day. Unless you're off on a huge expedition you don't really need to take much with you.

GingerRodgers · 24/05/2014 16:56

Newname- it's a brand new design so I can't see it being cheaper for a whole yet. I'll keep an eye on eBay though.
Blue- I like that one, I'll have a look at the website
Ham- that's lovely! Wonder if it's as nice in real life?

Romcom & family, they're not quite what I'm after but thank you
Somany- I hate to admit it (because I hate joules stuff) but I really like that!
Missm- I know but it's my birthday soon and I've a 'thing' for bags so thought if I could find a really nice one, it'd be a good present

Seraphine!

pixiegumboot · 24/05/2014 18:58

Storksak have an outlet online. I have the ellena. It is fantastic. Try Ill tutto. Or Sugarjack. On eBay is your best bet. Most are in fab condition.

pixiegumboot · 24/05/2014 19:02

I also have the nino and can recommend too. Its huge. But light. Sugarjack tend to be heavy. But lovely. Storksak elegant. Il tutto heavy. The i.t mia for example is fab but too shallow. Hence my love for the storksak ellena. Don't get me started I will be here all night!?

SchnitzelVonKrumm · 24/05/2014 19:18

Just buy a nice bag and fold-up changing mat.

SchnitzelVonKrumm · 24/05/2014 19:20

What do people carry in those massive changing bags anyway?

leadrightfoot · 24/05/2014 19:30

Mia Tui

PACAPOD have great changing bags that look just like normal handbags but with clever compartments for all
the baby paraphernalia

Or this?

LumionaMoonsplash · 24/05/2014 19:40

I bought a large slouchy handbag with loads of pockets in tan from eBay, I don't like the normal changing bags amd thought it'd be more practical once they're out of nappies.

GingerRodgers · 24/05/2014 20:04

Pixie I am Beyond jealous of your ellena! I'm a little bit in love with them but I just can not justify the expense.
Ah well.

Schnitzel, I'm more than happy to just get a bag, it doesn't have to be a specific changing bag but I'm stumped for something 'wow' (that I can afford).

Can't tempt you with the free Boots parenting club one, I take it? Fits the style criteria, apart from being unusual... :-)

Wolfiefan · 24/05/2014 20:10

Healthy back bag do one.

GingerRodgers · 24/05/2014 20:11

GrinPuss I still have that one from when dd was born, think it's in a bag for charity Blush
Not quite my thing....BlushGrin

Look for a 'weekend bag' on-line, as they are usually big enough and have a long handle for over the buggy as well as short handles. BUT, they don't have compartments that you get with a changing bag which can be a bit annoying.

schnitzel A friend of mine once asked me what was in my bag. As well as changing stuff, I'd always have snack boxes, water bottles, muslins (handy even after new born stage for wiping down wet swings etc) change of clothes for potty training toddler, a hot drink in a travel cup for me, plasters, sachets of calpol, a disposable place mat, folding shopping bags, crayons and a small notebook for scribbling.... All have been used and needed!

EduardoBarcelona · 24/05/2014 21:27

just buy a handbag that is diposable
