Babyliss Shine Ionic Hairbrush - after the enthusiastic Sunday Times write up by India Knight, are any of you actually using one?

Are they as good as hyped stated?
Do they break after 2-3 months? In which case they are even more crazily overpriced…
How long do the batteries last?

Please, please share some RL experiences, before I make my PayPal groan Smile

Just-over-shoulder-length, mid-thickness, wavy-frizzy caucasian hair here. I am rubbish with a dryer and only ever use it to 'blast' my hair, not for styling, I straighten with a GHD iron, mainly my fringe, that's it.

Help!

Anyone, please?

I swear by their rotating styler but not sure what I'd use the brush for so no, it's not for me but yy to the styler.

That doesn't help much does it? Blush

I have a fringe and then long layers, longish hair.

I'm not good at styling my hair but it's easy now I use this

Reviews aren't great but it works for me. Best hairbrush I've bought in forty years.

I section a piece of hair and brush down in strokes so that hair is spread over brush and then I aim nozzle of blow dryer at the haie with the brush at the back of the hair.

I have thick hair and this has helped reduce the drying time considerably and my hair is lovely and straight afterwards.

Because I bleached my hair from black to white and then used several dyes in a fortnight to bring it up to a brown colour, my hair is not in good condition.

With this brush, I get no breakages and I seal the moisture in my haie by rubbing downwards a teeny tiny amount of vaseline.

Vaseline is my miracle hair product as it leaves my hair soft and silky with no visible greasiness and does not weigh it down.

Thank you, both Smile

That drying brush looks fab! I have a rotating styler but don't use it much at home and it won't be able to do what I need it it to do: work without power Wink

I need something that will work for me without mains power to take to our caravan which this season is at a lake and I will be in and out of the water which really does nothing for my hair.

No Babyliss 'magic' brush users out there??

The towelling brush is on my list.

I ordered a Babyliss 'magic' brush from Amazon back in March. Apparently it is being delivered tomorrow ... so I'll tell you then!

PacificDogwood · 23/05/2014 13:23

Oh yes please, well you?
I'd be v grateful.

We are off this weekend to lake/caravan set up and just the thought of it has made my hair frizz… Hmm

I've reviewed the Braun one here: www.iheartbeauty.net/2014/03/braun-satin-hair-7-reviewed.html

I do think IK over hyped it but that seems to be her thing. She never describes something as just quite good but always unbelievably fantastic. Basically, I think it's quite good and I'm still using mine almost 3 months on!

PacificDogwood · 26/05/2014 22:36

alex, thanks for posting the other day - I have just ordered the Braun brush you reviewed (less expensive and available on Amazon Prime Grin. And its light is not pink )

I shall feed back what I made of it.
Sitting here in my frizzy glory after 4 days of rain-sunshine-rain-sunshine, wind on boat, water outside of boat, sunshine, more wind….(you can see where this is going…) I need ALL the help I can get Grin

Pleasure! How are you getting on with it?

Have you tried Living Proof No Frizz shampoo and conditioner? It's expensive but I was surprised how good it it.

PacificDogwood · 31/05/2014 22:10

Ok, I think the brush (Braun Iontec Shine) does to something, mainly improved static, frizz I am not so sure about.
But it's a nice substantial brush, I paid ÂŁ16 on Amazon, so am quite happy Smile

Yup, I was totally taken in by IK review. The brush is an OK brush but makes no real difference to my frizz - I get the same result whether I use it with the anti-static turned on or off. Definitely wouldn't recommend for ÂŁ30. Maybe it depends on the kind of hair though?
