Liz Earle is fab but expensive. Has anyone found an equally good cheaper alternative?

Superdrug (there's 2, I've tried the green one -Radience I think- and it's not as chalky/clay as LE but does the job)

And - my new discovery from a thread here... Good Things Manuka Honey with a hot cloth (I have some LE ones and bought a couple of Dirty Works from Sainsburys 3 for £4 ) they are a bit rougher, but my LE are washed a million times.

(The LE brand has been through changes, IIRC it's been bought by Avon? I know when they demonstrate on QVC it's not Liz herself that fronts it)
Though my intolerance/hatred of lavender limits what I can buy from her range.
"Oh smell the lavender" bleurgh that's me out then

Both the superdrug ones, The Radiant one and the Vit E one are great. I have used bot but prefer the Vit E one as I find it a bit richer and better for my super dry skin

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 17/05/2014 10:33

That's the other one Vit E (in a beige tube? )
I think the Radience is more herbally ( Eucalyptus smell) so maybe better for a normal/oil/congested skin?

They do a serum (nice) and a cream (ok, for price but I've used better) to match the cleanser

EduardoBarcelona · 17/05/2014 10:39

I've moved onto micellar water. Way cheaper

EduardoBarcelona · 17/05/2014 10:39

Liz earle perfume is mega. The no 15 one

Ohwhatfuckeryisthis · 17/05/2014 10:45

I use my normal cleanser with hot flannel, wish I'd known about it years ago.

JohnCusacksWife · 17/05/2014 11:16

Another vote for Superdrug Vit E hot cloth cleanser here.

Spurtle · 17/05/2014 18:35

Thanks. I think I'll try the super drug radiance one. Is it as good for getting eye makeup off?

I've been using No7 hot cloth cleanser and it's great but then I've not tried another brand so have nothing to compare it to.

LaCerbiatta · 17/05/2014 18:48

The balance me one is lovely but a bit pricey as well

whereisshe · 17/05/2014 18:51

I use anita grant carrot and wheatgerm oil cleanser with a hot cloth. It doesn't give me zits, which LE did.

LaCerbiatta · 17/05/2014 18:52

here

And the sanctuary one is also very good and a bit cheaper.

MostlyCake · 17/05/2014 18:56

When you talk about hot cloth cleanser do you mean just taking cleanser off using a cloth wrung out in hot water?

hedwig2001 · 17/05/2014 20:47

I use the Superdrug radiance. It is excellent. Not brave enough to use it on my eyes. Use l'oreal micellar water for that.

AndiPandi · 17/05/2014 20:53

Apparently Sally's do one called something like Skin Truth that's about £8 and very very similar to the LE one. A beautician told me & she works doing facials in a salon using LE products but uses this Sallys one herself

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 17/05/2014 20:59

I use the Superdrug or the Good Things on my eyes (but I don't have sensitive eyes at all).

MarathonFan · 17/05/2014 21:00

I tried LE C&P after it was rated so highly on here. I loved the way it made my skin feel properly clean but it gave me terrible painful spots. Now I use my LE cloths and cheap old Aqueous cream. My skin is better than it has ever been in my whole life.

SoFishy · 17/05/2014 21:02

Yes Superdrug vit E is my Liz Earle replacement. The only thing is it doesn't smell lovely like the Liz Earle one (not horrible - just meh) but it works very well and is much cheaper.

thepurplepenguin · 17/05/2014 22:03

I use no 7 cleansing balm for dry/extra dry skin as a hot cloth cleanser

It is just a rich cream cleanser really

V effective
