They were wonderful in every way, except for one thing.... they pinched your little toe quite hard, but only on your left foot??

Would you put a plaster on your toe and buy them anyway?

Oh, and they are half-price in the sale (£29)

Probably would yes.
Shoe repair places will have a go at stretching them for you. Something that I had (sadly) done in the past!

beckyndanuk · 30/08/2006 13:29

I have about 4 pairs like that in the cupboard that I never wear purely because they hurt my foot when I wear them! You think that it is a good idea now.....

hana · 30/08/2006 13:30

nope
in my old age of 36 comfort comes first
am dreading getting rid of birks when summer comes to an end!

but most of my walking is back and forth to school and highstreet and friends houses! and I'm not a style icon by any stretch..........

yes bt only if they were party shoes and half that price, and would still get them stretched anyway - you can buy shoe trees with knobs you stick on where you want the stretch to be

no if they were for every day

themoon66 · 30/08/2006 13:32

Am very very tempted. The stretching thing sounds good, but not sure if it would do the trick. Its more of a pressing pain coz of a bit of a lump where a seam goes.

no foir the same reasons as beckyndanuk

bundle · 30/08/2006 13:34

no

themoon66 · 30/08/2006 13:34

They would be for every day at work shoes. I'd do a link, but I cannot find them on the Clarks' website. Lovely little kitten heels in neutral brown leather.. go with anything and everything in my wardrobe.

Shoe stretchers with lumps on sound good... where do I buy them?

aha, if it's a seam then stretching is unlikely to sort it as it'll still rub even if it doesn't press

take 'em back and feel justified in spending £35 more on the next pair you buy

themoon66 · 30/08/2006 13:37

Nooo. i didn't actually buy them yet. Was in clarks yesterday hanging about waiting for my ticket number to come to get DS measured. I was just randomly trying on shoes myself to pass the time. I planned to go back after work at 3pm today and get these... been pondering on them since yesterday.

Don't think I will though. Like loads of you have said... they will loiter in the back of the wardrobe too much if they are not comfy.
