Stubble rash....

I was in two minds whether to post this in here or relationships tbh Grin

I've recently started dating a new guy and am in that amazing flush of wonderfulness where we do a lot (lot a lot) of kissing. He's a pretty manly man and has the kind of skin that's like sandpaper even straight after shaving and frankly after seeing him my skin is red raw for a few days. I have pretty sensitive skin anyway.

Is there anything I can use to protect my skin before/ during/ after these, erm, sessions? I'd love to not look like I've had an allergic reaction to something immediately after.

Apologies for lowering the tone of S&B

I found Bio oil helped stop it being so red and flaky. I don't think I'd recommend trying anything to prevent it though - might be a bit of a passion killer if you're covered in Vaseline.....

Well I found out, after shaving my lady bits a bit too vigorously, that toothpaste calms it down

You could give it a try?

TessTackle · 14/05/2014 19:17

Please cover yourself in Vaseline just for the laughs Grin

I've been using dream cream from lush which made it bright red, sudocreme calmed it down though. I guess I really do want a preventative although slippery, jellylike, shiny face may a bit of a passion killer.

Ooh I'm torn between my concern for your skin and feeling massively jealous! Envy .
La Roche Posay Cicaplast or Elizabeth Arden 8 hour cream might help.

DollyTwat · 14/05/2014 19:34

How about tackling the cause?
Let him grow the stubble a bit then put conditioner on it

Willow1114 · 14/05/2014 19:41

Maybe you need a different approach. Even more kissing - kill or cure!

OriginofSymmetry · 14/05/2014 19:43

Try rosehip oil. It's good for redness/rashes and sinks in pretty well. You can get small bottles on amazon.

DP is at his sandpaperiest after shaving and the day after that. If he leaves it about 2 days (which I've told him is designer stubble :) ), it's much softer then and avoids the sore/red face. Would he be willing to go for a longer stubble/v close beard?
