Lowlights bit too dark.....anything I can do?

Hi ladies......wondering if any of you can help. I have just below shoulder length hair, naturally dark blonde (mouse! Wink) which I get highlighted with some lowlights through every couple of months. Because of the highlight build up, it's gone quite an all over blonde, which needed breaking up as the roots were REALLY noticeable. So this time when I had it done, I asked for just two shades of lowlights, a dark blonde and a light brown, which my hairdresser has done, exactly as I asked......trouble is, it's a lot darker than usual :/ and I can't get used to it. Would a clarifying shampoo fade the lowlights a bit? I could get more highlights put through, I know, but I'm loathe to add yet more bleach.....anyone able to help? TIA Smile

I would say that the darker colours over highlights will fade quite a bit over the next few washes anyway. A clarifying shampoo (or good old head n shoulders) will certainly help that along.
On my hair the colour would be gone within a week!

Thanks mumelie, that's kind of what I'm hoping! I don't want to complain to her, as she's a good friend, and she did exactly what I asked! And they've always faded in the past, hence the all over blonde look..... Just wondered if anything in particular would speed up the process, iykwim. Big bottle of Head n Shoulders it is! Smile
