Leg Waxing

Can anyone advise me on this? I'm very dark haired and have coarse dark hair on my legs and thighs, an added problem I have is a varicose vein on my shin, I know that this is not ideal with waxing, I'm far too embarrassed to get my legs out in front of someone else - even though I'm sure they have seen it all before, I just wouldn't be able to do it.

I've tried using Veet strips, but they only took a small amount of hair off, microwave wax came with about 6 strips which was just about enough to do my ankle, shaving only lasts a day at most. I'm at a loss and I could really do with some advice, I have a holiday coming up and last year our break was awful because I was so conscious of my hairiness :(

Thanks in advance.

Veet Wax (the microwave one- you can buy extra strips.

You'd need to be careful over the vein - is it just one? Maybe miss that bit and use tweezers?

Exfoliate well
Put a dusting of talc on
Wax in small areas , pull against the direction of growth (with your legs that's towards your head) keep the strip close to your skin, not at 90 degrees.
You can tell where you waxed because of the talc.
Veet wax washes off any rogue bits.
Use a gel ( Aloe/ Arnica/Propalis ) after.
Don't wax just before your period (more sensitive)

Good Luck.

Go to a salon, seriously, they will sort you out. My legs are so bad I felt like I had to apologise to the therapist. She laughed and told me hers were worse than anything I could throw at her.

Beauty therapists see everything, literally, don't be embarassed. They totally understand and will give you a safe, professional treatment. They also know about how to deal with problem areas and will advise you how to look after yourself in between salon visits.

And yes, good luck, but you don't really need it. The dentist doesn't snigger about the state of your teeth, does she/he?
