I bought an expensive (c.£500) embroidered designer skirt for my birthday this weekend. I've worn it for approximately three hours at a posh country house hotel for 'morning coffee' and the drive there and back. I don't have snaggable jewellery, and I have short manicured nails. But upon removing the skirt I noticed that about 12 of the flowers had loose threads/ unwound completely / the thread split / etc... which maybe doesn't sound a lot but given I did nothing but sit in the - very expensive - skirt I'm rather cross. I can only think that it's so fragile that even the friction caused by normal sitting / getting up and down caused this damage.
I think I'm going to be laughed at to be honest. But does anyone have any helpful suggestions? It was a 'big' birthday and I rarely spend this much money, I'm so sad that this skirt feels barely wearable now :(

I'd take it back to the shop you bought it from and tell them how you've only wore it a few hours and it's falling to bits and demand your money back !!

I would be disappointed too,if the embrodiery starts to become loose after just one wear, ,I would take it back to the store and see what the can suggest.

Definitely take it back. It's not fit for purpose.
