Swimsuit for the well-chested lady

Hello,

i've just had a frightening look in the mirror - wobbly flab abounds. In the cause of sorting this out, I'm planning to go swimming, but I need a suit that will fit, and give a bit a lot of support. I'm looking for a suit that goes up to 32GG, and preferably has adjustable straps (fat, chesty and short, too - lucky!). I'm not fussy about colour, but can't quite bring myself to spend more than £40.

I saw a couple on Bravissimo - the blue one has adjustable straps, but the reviews say that they come off all the time...tomorrow I'll go and try the black one on and cross my fingers!. Does anybody have anywhere else to suggest?

I have same dilemma and have to wear sport type swimwear with racing backs... I am quite short petite and a size 12 but have 32E or F boobs...

Watching with interest Smile

Landsend swim suits-pricey but fantastic support. They often have sales.

I am the same size as you and have a Zoggs one with boob support, it's very comfy! It does have racer back though.

Not sure you'll get one with boob support for under £40 if you are going to use it for 'serious' swimming rather than an odd dip in the pool. I swim once or twice a week and have a sports speedo one and a zoggs one, both underwire and cost £55 each from bravissimo. Worth spending the extra money IMHO as they will last longer and provide the necessary support. The key thing I have found is to hand wash them as soon as possible after using to ensure the chlorine is out and to preserve the Lycra.

I'm a 34G, but found I had to go up a back size to fit me comfortably.

Have you looked on the Simply Be website for swimwear? Also I have purchased an underwired speedo costume one in Debenhams before and they always seem to have sales on these days, so it might come in cheaper that way.

I'm a 5ft 34E and went through looking for a supportive swimsuit recently.

Zoggs have some reasonably priced cup-sized suits, many of which have adjustable straps, but after trying 4 I personally never managed a decent fit, but perhaps worth trying. I also had trouble finding a decent fit with LandsEnd.

Bizarrely, I finally ended up happy with a size 12 Speedo Winner Clipback at £30, which doesn't have either defined cup sizes or adjustable straps, but seems to work for me and offers good support.

On a related thread some time ago, someone suggested if desperate you could try wearing a good supportive sports bra underneath a less supportive swimsuit.

I knew someone would know where to find them! I can have a look at Debenhams on the way up to Bravissimo tomorrow. Two of the Bravissimo swimsuits were Zoggs one so that sounds like a brand to look for. I'll take a look at Land's End as well - I wouldn't have thought of that. And the Speedo clipback one is on sale in a few colourways, for around £20. Thanks, everyone!

I'm a 30HH and currently have a Zoggs costume that has a double layer tummy flattening front that extends the whole of the front with additional 'bust support'. It's not proper full cups but there's a much, much firmer, rounded 'shell' for want of a better word that supports each breast slightly. I don't swim serious distances but it's been perfectly fine for 20-30 25m lengths twice a week.

treaclesoda · 11/05/2014 19:12

I'm that size and got a Panache one recently in a sale on MyCurvesandMe website, it was reduced to around £10 from £60.

For serious swimming I have a couple of Zoggs swimsuits from Bravissimo, again I got them in the sale for maybe £25 instead of £50. For the Zoggs, I have 34FF and it's quite a wriggle to get into them. If I was buying again I might go for a 36F instead, even though I'm only a 32GG in a bra. I'm not so fussy about fit for a 'swimming' swimsuit, as I'll be supported in the water anyway.

HazleNutt · 11/05/2014 19:56

have you checked ebay? There are several in 32GG available.

fingersonbuzzers · 11/05/2014 20:03

I'm a 32G and got this here

It's nice on :)
