Need a completely non oily/ mattifying moisturiser for sensitive oily, that soothes!

Tried so many that give a fresh, invigorating feel , and sting like mad initially (and often end up feeling a bit tight and dry)
I'm oily but mega sensitive and do get the odd dry bit down the sides of my nose
I really want something that feels soothing and does actually moisturise, despite not looking like it does i.e. invisible.. no shine or glow whatsoever
Impossible?

~I guess, the feeling of a rich and creamy moisturiser (i.e. what you'd put on dry skin) but looks the opposite

pure argan oil

Steam cream. You don't need much. Only cream I've put on my face that has never stung at all or caused redness.

I have oily skin, I used to love no7 night sorbet after a week of use it transformed my skin, I loved it. Then they went and discontinued it, can you bloody belive it?

At the moment I am using a superdrug one called naturally radiant 2in1 serum mousteriser which is really nice on my skin, sinks in quickly and is a good base for make up as it really smooths the skin. Is really light in texture and very non oily if that makes sense .

MissBlake · 11/05/2014 14:37

Sorry forgot to add that I also have sensitive skin and I have had no irritation or red marks ect while using the above.

I've found Barefoot SOS Rescue Cream very good recently - very soothing and makes an excellent matte base for makeup.
Also love Steamcream but it's not as mattifying, but excellent as a soothing night cream.

I use Avene cleanance. It's expensive for how much you get and not a miracle product, but I trust the brand and it feels soo nice on your skin. I'd give it maybe 8/10?

Olay Regenerist cream. Feels soft and cushiony on the skin, no greasiness at all.

HazleNutt · 11/05/2014 19:46

Mattifying creams just dry the skin. Try Dr Hauschka normalising oil.

revolutionarytoad · 11/05/2014 19:53

Dr Hauschka is def very popular, heard great things about it. The smell (& price) always puts me off though. Is it one of those products that kind of trick your skin into not producing as much oil as it would normally do?

alltoomuchrightnow · 14/05/2014 13:25

I've got a sample of the normalising oil but not sure how to use it! is it for cleansing or do you leave it on?
Used steam cream before, great for night. And SOS
I find the Normaderm can sting a little
I loved the night sorbet too MissBlake :-(
I can't use any of the Superdrug own brands, they burn like hell

You leave the oil on. I usually let it sink in a few minutes and wipe any excess off.

alltoomuchrightnow · 14/05/2014 13:51

and skin is matte (ish) but moisturised? would primer and foundation be ok after?

Yes, I use my normal make-up on top. The oil does not mattify the skin the same way as a mattifying moisturizer does, but at least in my case, skin stays normal looking the whole day, does not get shiny from grease. Try if it works for you as well.
