That's it really, new spots appearing daily. I'm not doing anything else different. Is this normal after threading? What can I do?

It is with my sensitive skin,I get the same waxing.

flipchart · 08/05/2014 12:06

It's not normal for me, but waxing always leaves me looking a mess!

I get this - lots of little whitehead pimples. I don't have my toplip threaded or waxed now, I just use removal cream. My skin is not at all sensitive but doesn't cope well with having hairs pulled out.

CarpeJugulum · 08/05/2014 12:13

Witchazel straight after and daily.

Lots of exfoliation helps mine - it's not recommended by the beautician but it works for me. I've also given up beautician threading and use a home spring threader; it's much kinder to my skin.

I get the same too-and dark patches of skin after prolonged threading :( I don't do it now just pluck the noticable ones out.

I used witch hazel & rose water when it happened but I couldn't tell you if it actually helped-it felt like it did!

GreggsOnLegs · 08/05/2014 12:26

That's exactly it Eurochick.
The hairs weren't that noticeable really unless you were up close (blonde). I don't think I'll bother again.
My skin is very allergy prone, especially my face, so I will steer clear of creams too.

I thought threading would be a non chemical alternative that wouldn't cause problems.
Hey ho, bring on the 'Tache.

I get this with waxing and threading so have given up and decided to leave it au naturel - mine is fine and blonde too. The only thing that helped last time was Germolene but it still took about a week to clear up...

I used to have this problem, but found out about this stuff called tendskin, which is meant to really help.

But I'm too skint, so found a recipe online for making your own, and it really works. I used to get awful spots where I plucked, and since I have really dark coarse hairs on my chin, leaving it wasn't an option. All cleared up now, I use it all over my skin, and rarely get spots anywhere.

here's the link

It's American, so mentions rubbing alcohol, a bit of research showed it's the same, or near enough to surgical spirit. I add a bit of glycerine as well as my skin tends to be dry. And it has cleared up my flakey skin too. Love it. Smells a bit awful though!

AwkwardSquad · 08/05/2014 19:32

I had exactly the same experience. I'm pretty sure it was folliculitis. I've never had threading since and I never will - the hairs weren't noticeable but the moustache of painful spots bloody well was!

Trillions · 11/05/2014 16:21

AltogetherAndrews I actually have some of that Tend Skin stuff, I'd forgotten all about it! Do you use it before hair removal, or after, or both? Thanks Flowers

I have the same problem have very very sensitive skin.
But as a brunette not keen on mustaches have to have upper lip waxed every couple of months (try to leave as long as I can).
My beautician puts in aloe vera gel straight after to cool down.
When back home and as soon as poss, I apply a white moustache of SUDOCREM (nappy cream) and leave it on for a couple of hours.
It helps calm it down tremendously and it is soothing (just don't open the door to strangers!)
