Anyone else with very dry hair?

Argh. I'm using l'oreal ever pure as it's the only conditioner that feels like it does anything. When I say dry, I wash it every 2/3 days. Use a palmful (at least of conditioner), and follow up with 4 pumps of kerastase hair oil plus curl cream. V curly and coarse hair too
What do you all use? I just want soft hair!!! Grin

You need to get some extra virgin coconut oil(holland and Barrett or in the speciality food section of the supermarket) get a couple of tsps and apply to dry hair and leave on for 30mins to a couple of hours before shampooing and conditioner.

You might want to read about the curly girl method too and avoid silicones like the one in your hair oil, which is actually a serum. They form a coating which can stop moisture being absorbed.

^^ yes to coconut oil! But honestly it works with almost any oil: palm, shea butter, monoi, even olive oil!

For a deep treatment, massage a lot of it into your hair before bed, then pleat or tie back. Wrap your pillow in a towel then sleep on it! Shampoo in the morning, and ta-daa! Silky soft hair!

I have very dry, curly hair too (North African heritage) and swear by Moroccanoil on wet hair before styling.

I tried the curly girl method but hated it, my hair went kind of fluffy-looking: very soft but impossible to get any definition in the curl.

I use oil masks before washing, then John Frieda shampoo, conditioner, Moroccanoil then Frizz Ease serum then mousse. No hairdryer.

On day 2/3 I drench the lengths with a leave- in conditioner spray (Aussie are good) and gently re-shape the curls.

I recently underwent changing my hair from black to white and then to light brown and it involved a lot of bleach! Consequently my hair was very dry and lacked shine.

I saw in Tesco that Organix extra strength penetrating oil was half price and it is fabulous and has made my hair silky and smooth not dry and coarse .

It's still full price online so check your supermarket!

Thank you!
I have some coconut oil - I try to avoid sulphates and silicones but the oil was a present off a friend
Usually have the organix awapuhi dry hair oil instead
