Help- lining eyes

I've always been totally rubbish at doing make up. It doesn't help that I wear glasses.
I really want to get better at it but I'm too self conscious to go a person IRL- they always look sooo perfect which is the opposite of me!
I hardly ever wear make up - only on a rate night out. Then I use a clinique cc cream to cover skin, and then usually a silver liquid liner & silver liquid eye cream over whole eyelid. It requires very little skill or precision. I'm aware however that I'm getting older, my skin is looking rubbisher & is like to be able to pit mske up on for a day look. And a night look. That doesn't look like I'm a kid who got into their mums make up box.
Help!
I've tried googling how to... Things but its do confusing & so many are either American or suggesting something dramatic.
Please- can you recommend a youtube or other tutorial for me to follow so I can practise?

Lisa Eldridge is brilliant for me.
A load of normal ideas as well as more quirky options.

I find a soft kohl pencil works best- a softer look for the more mature lady! I run it along my lower lashes and then smudge it a bit. Disclaimer- I am rubbish at applying makeup!

I absolutely love Fleur de Force's youtube channel for product recommendations and tutorials. She has lots of everyday looks which i take inspiration from. I do pare down what she uses to suit me but its really helped me feel more confident with make up.

During the day, i will use a BB cream or foundation with some powder over the top. I will then always apply a bit of brown eyeliner under my eyes followed by black mascara on top lashes only.

If i have a bit more time, i'll apply a bit of blush and bronzer.

Hope that's of some use

I've just bought a Bobbi Brown gel eye liner. It's great, like using a felt tip.
I only use it on the top lid though.

Ooh thank you! Quick replies!
I will go and have a look at these to stop off with.

Try doing the 'push' eyeliner method with a flat topped brush and eyeshadow - it's easy to do and looks much better than eye pencils! There's a good youtube tutorial on this but can't do links on this ipad Confused

Bobbi Brown's eyeliner brush (the regular one, not the ultra fine one that's used with gel liners) used either dry or damp with a dark eyeshadow is really easy and foolproof. For gel liners, I prefer to use a long skinny brush that I can lie on its side and almost rest it on my lashline rather than BB's ultra fine liner. Real Techniques make a couple of good liner brushes.

For pencil liners, get a soft smudgy one (Urban Decay, Too Faced and Clinique intense are all good) so you can smudge the line after you apply it, or even use a wee brush with matching eyeshadow to blend the liner before it's dry.

An easy way to apply basic eyeshadow for day is Bobbi Brown's.

Fat smudgy eye crayons or pencils are fab for a quick easy look.

Mornings I line (normally fine line and smudged) on lower lash line with black mascara top.

Evenings it's liner on top lashes etc. I just can't be bothered faffing with liner on top in mornings though I have done it some days. And yes this in on public transport!

MAC do a great smooth eyeliner and Clinique too (bit dry and their lids used to fall off).

If you're clever you can dip in water cotton wool bud then in eyeshadow of your choice, do line on top/bottom lash and seal with dry coat of powder eyeshadow afterwards. Works a treat.
