Those of you who have brazilian hair straightening....

Which shampoo do you use? Rather annoyingly, they've changed the one I had been using (Tigi Your Highness) and it is no longer sulphate free.

Recommendations please?

I use a shampoo and conditioner from the Boots Naked range and find them good value, but it guess it depends on your hair type?

I thought sulphate didn't matter, it was sodium choloride you had to avoid like the plague.

I am currently using Tresemme naturals that I bought last year, but apparently the new formulation includes Sodium Chloride :( So I'm going to try out either Organix Keratin or Naked next.

There are some folk who like one of the Sainsburys kids 2 in 1 shampoos, as that is sodium chloride free and super cheap.

how much does brazliian hair straightening cost please?

Loueytb3 · 07/05/2014 20:00

My hairdresser told me it was sulpha free but maybe it varies depending on the treatment?

Costs me £90 for a cut and Brazilian treatment but I have a mobile hairdresser so it's a lot cheaper than a salon (although I'm in London so expensive anyway). It lasts 4-5 months before it needs doing again.

Yeah might vary on the treatment. Mine is definitely sodium chloride is the devil! I used the 'wrong' l'oreal everpure and it basically killed the straightness instantly.

The one I use www.amazon.co.uk/Brazilian-Straightening-Blow-Dry-Keratin-Treatment/dp/B004R77YEW/ costs about £30 quid for the box and I get 2 treatments out of it.

I straightened mine about a month ago (its my third time). I use naked for fine hair and it did say SC free but no way is my hair straight any more. Its actually quite frizzy. Previously used Tresemme keratin smooth shampoo and the treatment easily lasted 3-4 months but they've changed the ingredients in tresemme now!

kitty I bought organix keratin as recommended on here. Its the one in the funny shaped brown bottle? Cost over £6 and it contains SC. Only noticed when I got it home. Had to give it to the husband.

Had mine done two weeks ago and was told no sulphate. I've been using taya from qvc but just notice a few ingredients that look a bit similar to sulphate - oops. Gave up my ojon as this was the second ingredient listed too.

I used organix coconut. Mine was fabulous for about 5 weeks but it's going fluffy again now so i will have to do it again. I used the amazon kit too.

Right just checked and clearly says no sulphate at the bottom of the bottle. Doesn't lather up much (which I think is what the sulphate does) but it's quite nice...
