Where do you buy your T-Shirts?

I constantly struggle with t-shirts - they are either too clingy, too long, too elastic or go our of shape really quickly.

I think I need to invest in some decent ones instead of my usual places like H&M etc.

I was thinking this today.

I need new tees. White, grey, black and maybe red. I like them to sit below the hip if possible.

But where?

I get mine from Primark.

shopafrolic · 06/05/2014 21:13

J Crew vintage cotton tees are fab, as are their linen tees. You can sometimes pick them up reduced on the Outnet. And American Vintage are good too - they had some on the Outnet this week actually.

Uniqlo for basic cotton tees with a little Elastane - I like them because they are long in the body, a nice shape and good thick cotton that holds its shape.

But I also like a particular cotton / polyester mix that can only be found in Primark occasionally and New Look. It's a particular blend that feels super soft, drapes beautifully and doesn't lose its shape.

M&S limited collection

Perfect scoop neck tees in black, grey marl and white

Wish they did a couple of brights too...

sweetheart · 07/05/2014 10:18

My favourite t-shirt is currently from Primark but I have to buy several of them as they go our of shape after a couple of washes and Primark probably won't stock them for long. They are a sort of linen tshirt effect - I don't want really think ones.

I think in terms of quality Petit Bateau and James Perse

Lambzig · 07/05/2014 15:23

Me and em, White Company and Baujken, although I think White Company quality has gone down a little lately.

AndIFeedEmGunpowder · 07/05/2014 15:27

I like j crew and James perse (if on sale) too.

shopafrolic · 07/05/2014 20:07

Do James Perse wash well? I saw a few on the Outnet.......

AndIFeedEmGunpowder · 07/05/2014 20:23

Mine have shop, one has even survived the tumble drier!

It does rankle that I have to actually shell out quite a lot of £££ for that insouciant 'oh I just threw on jeans and tshirt' look though.

middleagedspread · 07/05/2014 20:28

I was thinking about this the other day. Gap used to be quick thick, white round neck tee shirts with a bit of stretch in them. Sadly no more.

BikeRunSki · 07/05/2014 20:29

Lands End
Last forever
Similar fit to Primark, but better quality.

WireCat · 07/05/2014 20:30

Uniqulo.

shopafrolic · 07/05/2014 20:31

Thanks AndI. Might give them a go. I know what you mean re: £££ to look laid back but I wear them so often (SAHM) that I get good CPW.

HerRoyalNotness · 07/05/2014 20:32

I've just bought some from J Crew, a few linen ones, and a few cotton. I got them all 25-30% off with voucher. They're a nice shape and very comfortable/soft on the skin.

AndIFeedEmGunpowder · 07/05/2014 20:35

Yeh yeh, just think of the money we are saving not buying Roland mouret-esque power dresses Grin

libertytrainers · 07/05/2014 20:55

american apparel, unless you're fat then they won't fit

shopafrolic · 07/05/2014 21:00

TheWordFactory · 07/05/2014 21:18

This wasn't my thread, but thanks all for recommendations, am going to search out Good Tees.

I work from home mostly, so like to throw them on...yes, might be cheaper to buy suits for an office Grin.
